I was reading le petit journal and found this.
Earthquake Friday, March 16, 2012 Colette Dehalle Sunday, February 26th at 11:38 p.m., an earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale was felt in several districts of Monaco: an initial shock followed an hour later by a magnitude 3.7 and another at 8:12 a magnitude of 3.3. The epicenter was located a hundred kilometers, between Embrun and Barcelonnette.
Séisme Vendredi, 16 Mars 2012 Colette Dehalle Dimanche 26 février, à 23h38, un séisme de magnitude 4,8 sur l’échelle de Richter a été ressenti dans plusieurs quartiers de Monaco: une première secousse suivie une heure plus tard par une de magnitude 3,7,et une autre à 8h12 d’une magnitude de 3,3. L'épicentre était situé à une centaine de kilomètres, entre Embrun et Barcelonnette.

that's not unusual. Mostly you don't notice them. there are small quakes from time to time but nothing to be worried about. I don't recal if the region ever had anything major. Mostly it hits Italy. Even if they'd be of a larger scale, there wouldn't be any significant damage. Nice would encounter a lot more problems. The only thing that would really hurt the entire region would be, if the electric landline got destroyed.

Early this year there was a 5+ (I forgot the exact measuring). But it was the talk in town…
