Something is seriously wrong with this man, really. He cannot - will not - under any circumstances forgo his insatiable appetite for gratification. The day after his country's largest employer reported catastrophic losses, which is doubled than the year before, Albert flies to watch a football match. Good lawd, it must be nice to run a country like Monaco - straight into the ground. Seriously dude, ok... Your serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, this is truly one of those time that you should have made a public statement about future plans to increase SMB's profitability. Lie if you have to, but you should have done anything to ease the fears of people who might feel that you have no idea how to rescue Monaco from its downfall. Anything is better than what you are doing - going to a football match on one continent (Poland) and an environmental conference on another (Brazil) It could have been worse, he could have dragged Charlene with him. I guess he REALLY wants to have a good time and forget all of his troubles. Pic1 ** Pic2: Caption: Prince Albert greeted at the airport in Wroclaw by the city mayor Rafal Dutkiewicz, June 16. Prince came to Wroclaw as an honorary guest for the match of Euro 2012 Poland and the Czech Republic.Don't you just love how Albert throws together some really substantive events - receiving gifts, sightseeing, eating strawberries - to mask his true purpose of coming to a city/country. Finally! I couldn't believe he could stay away from his favourite sport. Well, the strawberries are very good so far this year... Besides, maybe he's picking up some tips from his wifey? Deceive, inveigle and obfuscate and all that?

It's not even an interesting match. And yes every normal elected head of state would not have attended a soccer match. A normal head of state would not have gone and eaten foie gras and truffles and sloshed himself and his wife with 5 different alcoholic beverages. Albert is probably looking for some Polish protitutes as relief and whatever advisor allowed him to go there is probably praying that there will be another Polish plane crash...At this point that sounds like the best option for MC right now. Pity trashy didn't go. That way they could have a JFK jr exit....but I suspect that she is busy hanging out with some young, muscle packed SA swimmer......

We know he was in Poland, so he definitely planned and was going to attend the game. Thus, someone must have persuaded him to return. If true, it is unfortunate that someone else had to explain to him that photos of him having a good time in Polish stadium watching a football match the day after horrible economic news was announced in Monaco was not a good idea. The idea that Albert would hop in his plane just to attend a football match on such a day shows just how disconnected he really is to his people's needs.

Sometimes I feel you guys here on the forum act as a moral arbiter whether intentionally or not. Should he be saved from himself? Shouldn't you be rewarded?

Actually I checked the site of the masters. Indeed MC matin gave the wrong date. The final was held on Friday. The same day he got sloshed on the market with his wife. I am not sure if they just made a mistake or if they gave the wrong date on purpose. They do write that it was held on Saturday, but in a previous issue they gave the correct date. So they knew the correct date. And Peyregne, who is an excellent critic (he does all critics for the orchestra and runs the Nice Conservatory) surely knows when he was at a specific place, so I do doubt that he made this mistake. IMO they changed the text in order to cover Alberts tracks. People in the audience will know that he was there. So obviously someone thought it would be bad if people in MC would know that Albert went to watch a soccer game, whilst SBM seems to be using money to light the candles in their restaurants with. I have not seen actual pictures of Albert at the match. And surely they will manage to get hold of as many as possible. Maybe he was lucky and didn't get pictured. But obviously someone realized that it would be bad for those pics to be out right after the bad news. I bet that the reason why trashy had a Saturday morning date was also due to the bad SBM numbers. They are desperately trying to control damage for fatty and trashy, but the head idiot of MC sabotages the attempts of those trying to safe his butt, by flying off in a private jet to watch a soccer match. Apparently there are people in the palace that care more about his job then he does. Even trashy cares more (for obvious reasons) or does anyone remember her showing up at so many things as she has recently?

Here is the proof that the final was held on the 15TH in the opera and not on the 16th. As I have said before Andre Peyregne is a reputed critic and director of the NIce conservatory. He would not write the wrong date of a concert he attended. IMO this has been purposely altered by Alberts minions to cover his tracks in Poland. The things dictators do to save their image.... incidentally this is the program posted by the SBM www.montecarlosbm.com/news/monte-carlo-piano-masters/

From the above article in Monaco Matin: "Certainly, after twenty years of existence, the "Masters" of piano, still have no winner French. It could have been the case this year, where the final was played Saturday night in the packed hall of the Opera, in the presence of Prince Albert II, between a Russian, Miroslav Kultyshev, and French, Francois Dumont." Seriously, either Albert got in his plane and hauled his butt back to Monaco, the reporter (Andre Peyregne - not a name I see often writing for the MM) mistook someone else in the audience for Albert or the reporter is deliberately lying. But for sure, on Saturday afternoon Albert was in the city of Wroclaw, Poland. He even gave a press conference offering his prediction about who would win the game. According to this TVN24 article, Albert stated to the reporters, "I do not know who will win today's match, but I'll be cheering for the Poles." In addition, this Polish newspaper noted Albert said, "Poland greatly strengthened, and this is a great opportunity to showcase it." He added that it was a very good idea that Poland and Ukraine together organized tournament . "This is a great sporting event will benefit the economic and tourist."[/color] At least Albert is showing concern for Poland's economy and tourism.

LOL I do not doubt in the least that Albert was in Poland. And I do not doubt that Peyregne saw Albert in the audience (he knows Albert for certain and he only writes about concerts, Printemps des arts etc). He was in MC on Friday. THe masters final was held on Friday evening. Albert would not miss that as there were some reputed people ther, one of them PPDA, former anchorman of TF1 and the guy interviewing him on numerous occasions. What bothers me is that MC matin states the masters took place on Saturday. In their previous article Peyregne even states that the final will be held on friday. www.monacomatin.mc/sortir/20e-anniversaire-d%E2%80%99un-des-plus-prestigieux-concours-de-piano-a-monaco.897635.htmlNow do you think that the one person from MC matin who actually writes critics about all musical activity in MC and who is at every single concert given in MC, the one person who has been sitting through all competitors during the masters and the one one who already stated in a previous article that the final will be held on Friday, will get it wrong and say it was Saturday? ? Really? I do not think so. They changed it deliberately IMO. None of the pictures you posted has been taken in the stadium. They are all during daytime, so they used the chance that even if there are pics of him in Poland on Saturday, they could still claim that he was back in the evening for the concert. But the concert DID NOT take placeon Saturday. The final was held on Friday. My point is that they changed a cultural critic deliberately to provide Albert with an "alibi" for his whereabouts on Saturday evening. It may seem a tiny thing, but in view of the fact that the numbers of SBM were announced on Friday, that he and wifey came out fullforce at La Condamine and she even on Saturday morning (an unusual time for he btw) and they feel it is necessary to manipulate the press so that Albert can attend a football match in Poland, shows clearly that someone thinks and knows there is sth wrong about Alberts actions and that the Monegasques should be made to believe that at a time like this Albert would feel it is necessary to watch this match at home in front of a tele instead of going there in person. Papers do make errors, but this one is way too obvious to be an honest mistake. And I know that Peyregne would not make that mistake. Someone was told to change it before putting it online on Sunday morning at 7.20h, which btw would be the normal time it takes to write a critic from a concert on Friday. Especially when it is supposed to go into print for Mondays issue. So when you posted on Saturday evening that ALbert was in Poland, which has been also taken over by Eringer, they decided that they needed to do sth about that. Obviously they couldn't undo Albert being pictured in Poland during daytime. But they could change the press in MC. They might have been able to contact his entourage in Poland to make sure that there weren't pics of him actually at the match. He could have even asked Platini, who was there, to take him out of the official pics. We know that UEFA tempers with the footage, because they have done so during a German match, which has been widely reported and the German TV station has filed a complaint about that incident.

here is another tidbit that states that ALbert was at the final. They do not mention a day though. its from the site of Monaco life
Russian wins Piano Masters
Miroslav Kultyshev has won the Monte-Carlo Piano Masters competition, beating Francois Dumont of France in a play-off at the Salle Garnier at the Opera of Monte-Carlo. The winner’s choice of music, rather fittingly, was Rachmaninoff’s third concerto. The Monte-Carlo Philharmonic was conducted by Philippe Bender. The Rachmaninoff piece has the reputation of being one of the most technically challenging piano concertos in the standard classical repertoire. The winner received the €30,000 prize from HSH Prince Albert. PHOTO: Piano Masters winner Miroslav Kultyshev Celina Lafuente de Lavotha

The paino masters final being on Friday was televised and published before the event so I son't think anyone was trying to deliberate fool people by reporting it was on Saturday so people can think Albert didn't attend the football match in Poland. Albert was at the piano masters on Friday, which is a good thing. But, he also flew to Poland just to attend a football match - not a good thing. Honestly, I don't think Albert cares enough to create some elaborate ruse/alibi of actually being in Monaco instead of a football match. Albert planned to attend the football match long before the SBM results were published and he wasn't going to let bad results spoil his insatiable appetite for self-gratification. Albert's attendance was reported in the Polish media weeks before the match. This Polish news article dated May 24, 2012 stated that Albert will be one of the VIP guest. Funny title noting that Albert will be ther, but Putin won't. Google translation: Prince of Monaco and President of the Czech Republic to the Euro. Putin will not be

And how many people from MC do you think watch the piano masters on TV? Not mentioning that it might be televised on a different date ( I think France 3 might televise it). The monaco channel has it on the 19th. I really don't see the guy who has been writing these things for years and who wrote a few days before an article and attended the masters would actually not manage to get the date right writing about the finals.

The monaco channel has it on the 19th. I really don't see the guy who has been writing these things for years and who wrote a few days before an article and attended the masters would actually not manage to get the date right writing about the finals. Here's a video featuring an interview with the founder of Monaco's Masters competition. In the video you can also see the marketing posters which have the date of the finals 12 - 15 June 2012. Toward the end of the video, it mentions that Albert would be at the finals Friday night - June 15, 2012. So, I really do not believe there was this conspiracy to try to develop an alibi for Albert on Saturday night by using an incorrect date of him attending the Masters. Honestly, I doubt if anyone in Monaco even knew he was at the match in Poland, especially since no photos surfaced (probably due to some pre-effort by Al's staff). Chantal and Jean-Marie Fournier, founder of Piano Masters of Monte Carlo, tell us about the birth of this event has become an international benchmark. Again this year, 15 talented pianists from around the world compete, from 12 to 15 June at the Salle Garnier. The winner will win the prize Rainier III, worth 30,000 euros, as well as concert engagements in France and abroad.

I am afraid we have to agree to disagree. So far they have never had any problems of Albert attending football matches. Especially when it was great tournaments. They even reported private visits to matches. So if they made sure that no pics appeared this time, then obviously they knew that it would be bad for Albert if it was known that he was watching football in Poland instead of thinking about ways to improve MC. Considering the kinds of idiots Albert employed in the press office in the past, I would not put it past them to think that changing a date in an article in MC matin would benefit them. I find it is an odd coincidence that a very competent critic whose articles I have read these past 12 years and which have to my memory always been correct with reagrds to the facts all out of a sudden get's the facts wrong for an event he attended....

An airplane spotters site has a mention of Albert's plane being spotted on Wroclaw airport at the 17th. Just thought I'd mention it.
