The monarch's new portrait A new portrait photograph of the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh has been released by the National Portrait Gallery, as part of an exhibition to mark next year's Diamond Jubilee called The Queen: Art and Image. The large-scale portrait, measuring 1.5m by 2m, shows the Queen and Prince Philip seated together in the Green Drawing Room at Windsor Castle. news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_9520000/9520539.stmNot a sign of love on their faces.

Great find Countess. So they saved some money by just painting over the head! Who knew the royals were so frugal!

I would not mix this with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee CW thread for anything in the world so I am posting it here - it's more relevant. My all-time favourite friends the airplanes. Absolute perfection up in the air. Queen's Diamond Jubilee Flypast - Windsor Castle 19th May 2012 How they did the 60 and the E II R is most amazing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtRdZX0Il_sEnding with the Red Arrows in a 9 plane formation (it's usually 7) What a treat!

The Daily Mail has a page with some really beautiful pictures of the Windsor Jubilee flypast with the Queen. Priceless. The Jubilee Muster of Ma'am's troops: Three Armed Forces march through Windsor as RAF jets conduct awesome flypast tribute www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...l-Navy-Army-RAF-march-Windsor.htmloh... and there is a video of the flypast all the way down the end of the page Yummy airplanes Long Live Her Majesty QEII
