an infection of the bladder can happen rather quickly, if you spent the entire afternoon standing on a drafty boat in cold and rainy weather. Especially at 90. It goes to show what caliber the Queen and prince Philip are at their age. And an infection of the bladder is really painful, not like a soar throat that some think is a good excuse....at almost 60 years his junior.....
i have to wonder if they're still friends? isn't it totally against protocol to talk about the queen?
"according to a new account offered by one of the monarch's closest friends, the truth behind the queen's decision to temporarily abandon her people was her overwhelming concern for the welfare of Diana's sons, Princes William and Harry.
Margaret Rhodes, the queen's first cousin and one of her oldest companions, revealed in an interview with CNN"

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee: after the show, a Palace drinks party After thrilling the crowds outside Buckingham Palace as well as the millions watching at home, performers from Monday's spectacular concert enjoyed their own after–show party as guests of the Royal household.
This is an interesting op-ed (thank you The Royalist). In it, it asks the question how many of us are Elizabethists? And how many will turn away from the monarchy when she dies? There are also a few little jabs at Charles.
My bestie QE2 has a sore eye. She's one trooper to not just take a little time-out and have a power nap with Philip with a good compress, surrounded by her dogs. I hope she takes a little rest. It's a lot to party like this at any age.
Also, Kate will one day have to assess the incongruity of her hem lines vis-a-vis her long torso and short legs. The hem has to be lower or else it makes her look bow-legged. Just saying. Bravo for including Sophie and for the gloves Camilla is wearing. Chapeau les filles!
My bestie QE2 is showing everyone who's boss and that means even Kate has to tow the line. The latest clarification on protocol has a duchess curtseying to blood princesses. Nothing shocking there, plus the girls will end up curtseying to her later anyways when William is king. The one who'll secretly be rejoicing is CC
Apparently, we need a new thread intitled "Canada's Royal Family". Some overzealous Canadians unlike Australia and other parts of the Commonwealth are really pushing the monarchy angle by styling the British Royal Family as Canada's Royal Family. It's not that I'm miffed they stole my thunder ahead of home wrecking Charles & Camilla but who are we kidding people??? Canada is a dominion, a subdomain if you will, are we completely proud of subservience!?! That's an aberration. Witness the pedantism:
