Albert attends the opening of a new store in Monaco's Metropole Mall. Should the sovereign Prince of Monaco attend openings of each new venture in Monaco? What's your opinion - it's necessary since Monaco is so small and new business is vital to Monaco's economic revitalization? Does Albert weakens his appeal when he attends every whatever opening? should he let Charlene do these sort of duties or is it more prestigious or gives the venture more credence if Albert attends? Perhaps they both should attend? Inauguration of the shop Fauchon Posted Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 3:39 p.m. - 2 In the presence of Prince Albert II in Monaco Fauchon opened its 56th sign.OO A feast for the eyes but also for the taste buds. Well, if nothing else, he sure does know a lot about food. And if you exercise your taste buds you do not have to make sense talking. I think events like that suit him very much.

Monaco is small enough that he probably can attend all openings. So only going to a few of them is bound to cause bad blood and lots of mutters about favourites and cronies. Albert needs to realise that these are his people. Not the Irish or the South Africans or the Lebanese or wherever else he's been in the past months. Yes, state visits are important, but he spends far too little time being seen in Monaco as it is. He's a Prince, and even as frog-like as this prince may be, there's a draw to it. People would take note, and I bet there'd be tourists who'd be interested in that sort of event. A lot more interested than in a country which seems to be abandoned by its monarch most of the time!
(And even if it's too much work for him to handle alone, there still are his sisters. There's the Casiraghi trio who can be recruited. Heck, come July, there's Charlene.)

Seeing photos of PA expressing "interest" in what goes on in the Principality is alright with me. I agree with Chriss regarding all the other photo ops in other "necks of the woods" ... My issue with PA is he does too many of these EVERYWHERE. Almost like he's trying to make a point, see how hard I work. No, you just like to travel and present the appearance you're working hard buster! Honestly, I can't bear to watch him sit his rear end in another electric car. I mean they could recycle his goofy butt smiling, sitting in some hybrid car in a well lit venue from years ago and I bet we wouldn't know the difference.

Heck, come July, there's Charlene.) She's already there, but not lifting a finger. No shame in having the prince's fiancée over for an opening. Fiancée's first official solo gig in your shop: one could do worse. In normal circumstances, I would even think that a new face would draw more attention than an old face. And, to be honest, I don't think she's there, as in being in the country. Five years and stil no one knows where she hangs out when not on official escort duty. At least Kate seems to manage to have some sort of live, but "it" spends her ample spare time deflated and tossed in a drawer?

‘Chocolate, pastries, tea, foie gras, salmon and fine wines’
Charlene has probably stopped eating... she must fit in her wedding dress.
Albert needs to diet. I really do not understand why a head of state opens a shop.

I really do not understand why a head of state opens a shop. Probably because they will deliver food for the wedding for free? Or for the marital goodie bag?

It's completely ridiculous that Albert shows at any shop opening in MC. BTW, Myadia who's the grey-haired guy near Albert? He was also with PA at soccer match a few days ago.
