rumour has it that Sofia and Juan Carlos will announce their seperation in a few months... now that would take the tabloids focus away from any MC offspring... Trashys new friend may desert her too and move back to Spain, that is of course if she still likes to put her claws into an abdicated king... she might focus more on ALbert though... who would have thought the Spanish Royals could outdo the Windsors in drama. SInce Steph and Caro have calmed down MC has become pretty common place. The next generation is pretty ordinary in comparisson...

Yes, exactly. Spain has became really interesting. Always rumours sourrounding Felipe and Letizia with their marriage presumably on the rocks. And Juan Carlos and Sofia's too...if they separate...thunder still being stolen.
Actually, with lone abdication of the king right now all eyes are in Spain.
It's like:
'King Juan Carlos abdicated!!" 'Say what?!! Oh my God Letizia is gonna be Queen!" (In any tone, excitement or dislike)
And
'Princess Charlene is pregnant' 'oh, ok.'

never seen pics of her with her own kids like this. Have to say that she seems to have gotten a lot warmer since she became a granny. It's a bit like with QEII who seems to look more relaxed the older she gets and the more great grandkids are added

Spain's King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia would put an end to their marriage after 52 years. That message pops up in different Spanish media. The monarchy would soon spread a communiqué in which the news is confirmed...
I can not believe it or should I say it is about time! She goes away from that man...

well, if you go back, I think I predicted sth like that. Obviously they couldn't divorce while he was king, but now? might make things awkward and they would see how they could still involve both of them. After all Sofia made a lot of sacrifices, so they can't just discard her. But she still seems pretty fit and she might just think that she wants to enjoy her final years with her grandkids etc and not by the side of an ill old man who betrayed her most of her life.... good for her if it happens.

I don't think Sofia and Juan Carlos will divorce. They've lived separate lives for years if not decades IMO. Why divorce now after more than 50 years? What's the point? It'll just be a scandal. Sofia can still live with her grandkids and I don't think she gives a sh** about JC. They've staff to take care of him. Apart from that Sofia is too religious and conservative to divorce IMO.

The news of the Duchess of Alba dying depresses me. She was such a bonne vivante, eccentric like you want your royals to be and she was even in the Guinness Book or World Records for the most titles. I'm going to miss her!! Another One Bites the Dust |

A last post before wishing everyone a Merry Christmas... I couldn't help myself upon the news of the Infanta of Spain being charged for embezzlement. It's interesting to note that Spain has been insolvent since the early 1800s when the mother of the infant queen at the time got suckered into loans floated by a foreign financier family who ended up scooping up Spain's natural resources when the loans defaulted amid a stoked succession battle between the girl queen's supporters and her uncle's. It's amazing Spain still has a royal family in place after that, other than it has always provided cover for a lot of fiscal mischief and not always by the royals. My point is that the royals are not always masters of their fate especially when they have screwy advisers with agendas of their own. I'm not crazy about her husband. But my money is on her advisors as the culprits. Here in Canada, public money is embezzled regularly that way and channelled to private foundations with senators on their boards where the money ends up on Park Avenue to finance the supranational Council of Foreign Affairs that handles US-Israel relations. That's a long way to go from the pockets of Canadian taxpayers. My sympathy to Cristina. Somehow in Spain those scavengers always pick on the girls. Plus ça change... |
