The video describes one of her three special expensive pieces of jewelry this gold digging narcissist had made just to show off for this wedding. No other European princess has ever done such a thing. Who's going to wear Charlotte's jewels when Caroline is gone? Her daughter isn't titled... I think you are forgetting about HRH Princess Alexandra of Hannover.  Very late to the conversation here, but if Albert and Charlene have children (and I pray to God that they don't), Caroline might do the same as Charlotte and leave some of her her jewelery to one of Albert's and Charlene's children, rather than the give anything to Charlene. The children would at least be family and I can't see Caroline ever regarding Charlene as one of the family. |

OMFG!!! What modern-day princess would ever, ever allow themselves to be video-ed while fawning (aka, drooling) over a damn piece of jewellery??!! Really??? In THIS economy?? How ridiculous can you be? That just confirms all that she has to offer Monaco---- spending $$$.. that's it, nothing else! If she wants that tiara to be her signature, then she should just wear it a lot... eventually, people will ask why it's her staple and favorite, then the tradition and story will come out... but, noooo.... she just lets the ego take over! In her childish fantasies -THIS is how she has always dreamed it would be - how she would act - how someone in this position, a Princess, would behave. THIS is her FANTASY come true. But it's not the reality of anyone BORN to this position - or born into wealth WITH CLASS. She'll NEVER get it. And all the plastic surgeries in the world won't help her get it either. Dolcevita and CM, you stated the same things I stated when I first saw the video. I was shocked also. Here's more info in this post about that tiara. But, the type of people who begged Albert to marry Charlene - or worse those who recommended that Albert marry her as an image and economic boost for his country - find nothing wrong with Charlene's gutter behavior which she has demonstrated since her first tell all interview to the press in June 2011 about her first date with Albert because they share her mentality. Charlene has the mentality to money can and has bought her class and respect. Albert is too dumb to get it because these are the type of women who he feels comfortable with. If Kate would have had three very expensive pieces of jewelry made for her wedding - two tiaras and a necklace - and then done a video bragging about her pieces as she tried one on - the worldwide media would have made a huge issue of it. But, neither Kate nor any other princess have NEVER done anything like this and they never will. Charlene is a gold digging narcissist who waited 11 years to cash in on Sucker Albert and she cannot help but show off her loot. No one in the serious media care about Charlene and thus Monaco to make an issue of all these gutter behavior things that she has done and continue to do because they have already put Albert and Monaco in the rash heap - and this is the type of behavior is expected from them. Again, Albert is too dumb and spineless to understand what he has done to his country by making Charlene the most important person in Monaco and bragging that marrying her is the best decision that he has ever made. As you said CM, this is what Charlene dreamed and still dreams about. So, trust me, since Charlene lives for reading adulation about herself - mainly her expensive and extensive clothing and jewelry - from the sugar lunatics, she will add a whole lot of more tacky gaudy and of course expensive jewelry to her collection - all with names. |

This need to "create" the image, of style icon, fashionable princess, Monte Carlo glamor princess and so on might have been influenced by the traveling museum tribute to Princess Grace. The exhibit commemorating the life, style and glamor of Princess Grace did have some focus on Grace’s jewels; who gave them to her, what jewelry house made them, photos of her wearing them and so on. It seems as if the PR people at the palace are trying to replicate this homage to grace by showing how jewels are created for Charlene, the tiara, the necklace and what else is to come. Idol worship of a celebrity, singer, actress or princess takes on a strange form after the person is dead. When Grace was alive she had plenty of critics to attack her. The tabloids never ran out of attacks on her religious and family points of view, snickering at her short movie career, rude comments about her weight, constant gossip that her family relationships were strained and also attacks on the state of her marriage. BUT after she passed, there seemed to be an almost reverent attitude towards her. Just think about how Princess Diana was treated by the press just prior to her death and then since her death. As the years pass, the memory of Grace and what she is memorialized for is selective. She is the perfect princess (I think so) so beautiful, so elegant, such effortless style, always posed, completely gracious, and the accolades go on and on. In reality no one could possibly be all of these things but those that love Grace tend to believe so. The press sells this image of a deceased beloved princess, but this homage to Grace comes after she died and after her whole life has been looked at and selective aspects of her life have been found to be worthy of admiration and praise. To the PR people at the palace, don’t put the cart before the horse. Let Charlene make her own way, her own path as a princess. Then after many years, her accomplishments will or will not warrant an homage to Charlene. This is not something that can be manufactured and created and promoted like a movie premiere. Grace’s jewels were stunning but when I think about it, she chose simple jewels. Not the over-the-top jewels of Elizabeth Taylor or suites of jewels that the Duchess of Windsor had. Even her tiaras were simple and understated. As princess, Grace didn't try to compete with the jewels of queens and other princesses. Her engagement ring was a gift and I don’t think that she ever would have chosen a 10.5 carat diamond for herself. Her tastes were much simpler than that. The videos of Charlene’s tiaras kills the “Royal Mystique” and adds to the unsavory reputation that Monaco is once again gaining because flaunting wealth is not attractive.  |

I had a professor who wrote on exactly that topic. Her book is called over her dead body. there is a a quote in it somewhere which says sth along the lines, that a beautiful woman can't do anything better then to die young. it does work for men too though. Mozart, James Dean etc. IMO it is the opportunities that people think these persons still had ahead of them. When you look at their lives however you will see that in most cases the way they lived their lives, an early death was somehow inevitable. I still remember thinking at the time, that DI was overdoing the holidaying a bit, rushing all over the place getting her pics taken and taunting the photographers on purpose. I felt that she was headed for disaster. Not that I imagined it this way, but still it did not really surprise me that she died running away from the forces that she called. A bit like the magicians apprentice. Marilyn, James Dean, AMy Winehouse and many others seem to have had it all in their cards too. I often wondered whether they lived this way because they had an inner feeling telling them that they wouldn't have as much time as others, or if it was their way of life that caused their early death. In any case if you look at the real people and not the myth, then there is much less beyond the surface. Grace did not leave a lot of traces in MC apart from a few things named after her. Her impact was less important then what she is being credited for. MC had a much more cultured life and artistic impact with Princess Alice then ever under Grace and Rainier. Monacos most important time was during ALbert I. Rainier only brought the money in. Albert and Alice put MC on the spot with the Ballet Russe and the cultured crowd they attracted. People who came to MC during their time are household names for cultured people. Grace only brought a few Hollywoodstars she happened to be friends with. She did not use her role to create anything herself. Apart from those sad pressed flower pics, that weren't even any good.
