Thank you Lord, there are some journalists with a lick of common sense and intelligence who feel that they do not have to suck up this trashy wedding and trashy relationship as some fairy tale to sell papers! Please note, this journalists still praises Charlene to the hilt - calling her "our Princess " as many in the South African media does. But, as a woman she does not sell her soul and dignity; she professionally puts this relationship in its proper place - the garbage pile. I guess this reporter will not be getting e-mails from Princess Conlene detailing her whereabouts! However, I wonder how the South African media will be claiming Charlene as "our Princess" when the truth about Charlene comes out - how much she wanted this wedding by any means necessary and how she knew all along from the beginning that Albert cheated on her. It's amazing how many are believing that the L'Express info is the first time that Charlene find out about Albert cheating on her. Just wait until more of the truth is revealed. From the Mail and Guardian (SA):
Sting in the fairy taleby NIKIWE BIKITSHA July 22, 2011
Was I the only one whose sense of sisterhood and national pride took a battering while observing the run-up to and the circus that was Charlene Wittstock's wedding?
When the engagement of our Olympic champion swimmer to Monaco's Prince Albert was announced I was enormously excited -- not only for her as a woman but also as a fellow South African.
So I, like many fellow South Africans, was watching with keen interest the nuptials and celebrations, where I was sure the flag would fly high and we would witness another feel-good moment for Team SA.
The flag certainly did fly high in the streets of Monte Carlo, and in Durban's Umhlanga Rocks for the local leg of the festivities, but her spirits certainly did not. This dampened every girl's fairy-tale fantasy.
The slim as a whippet bride looked ravishing in an Armani gown and the setting of the beautiful Mediterranean couldn't have been more romantic, but all around her were swirling terrible reports that she had tried to flee from her gilded cage -- not once but three times. The French and British tabloids had a field day with suggestions that she had tried to return to South Africa to escape from her prospective husband's alleged philandering ways, but was stopped at the airport in Nice by the intrepid gendarmes.
With each new and more salacious titbit I recoiled in shame on her behalf and ours. Why did "our" royal wedding have to be so mired in controversy? It simply wasn't fair after the Brits pulled off theirs with military precision and all the expected splendour and romance.
And I couldn't help thinking that the British press took particular pleasure in making comparisons between what was soon becoming our circus with the earlier wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, further wounding our pride.
The rumours about the ageing prince of Monaco suggested he had fathered a child while seeing Charlene. This would bring to three the number of his offspring born out of wedlock. The other two are really no business of ours, but this latest baba would mean that the dashing prince had once again been up to his caddish ways while dating Charlene, who has been living in Monaco for the past five years. The head spins at this awful possibility but, for it to emerge in the press just a week before you take your vows, that's just deathly.
The brave woman went through with it in the end, despite the smutty reports. For her valour she deserved one of the epaulettes worn by her awkward-looking prince on the wedding day.
Watching the actual event brought on yet more anxiety. It was tantamount to seeing an action thriller, with all the intrigue and suspense such movies provide. Her behaviour and demeanour did little to dissuade us from believing the reports. Despite her elegant designer gown she looked petrified. At times it seemed as though she was eyeing the nearest exit and would bolt at any moment during the lengthy service.
Even the many well-heeled guests looked nervous. Some looked as if they might faint from the tension and heat. As for Prince Albert, his attempt to look relaxed, and to reassure his bride by winking at her throughout the ceremony, merely served to make him look sleazy and decrepit.
I'm sure this is not how Princess Charlene had imagined her big day. When she burst into tears, in one fell swoop she dispelled any notion among the viewing public that she was a happy bride. With that, she also exposed the "happily ever after" myth.
I switched off my television and began to interrogate our unhealthy obsession with the fairy-tale romance and the "happily ever after" myth. We were equally taken up with the wedding of Princess Di and Prince Charles, but Di looked sweet, and even slightly bewildered, on her wedding day. She didn't look deeply unhappy as Charlene did. Her misery came later on.
It's clearly time to put the princess myth in perspective and throw in large doses of reality. We owe it to countless girls around the world to tell them that sometimes the frog is, well, just a frog -- even if he speaks French.
If you've been put under a spell and are told that only a kiss from a handsome prince will wake you from your eternal slumber, it's not true. Your girlfriends should just dial 10111.

A big sigh of relief that not all South African female journalists are like the bunch at YOU magazine who feels that this relationship and Charlene are something to admire and AWARD! Lara de Matos, the editor of Tonight, is definitely not giving Charlene a pas for marrying Albert if the rumors are true. Notice that a lot of people are using very demeaning (more golddigging) terms [ "bagged" for example - to show Charlene's selection (or Albert's). I am so glad that smart accomplished women are speaking out against using this relationship as some model for young girls to look up to just because Charlene struck gold.
The world of the rich and famous is aflutter with scandal of the amorous kind and notions of fairytale happy hook-ups.
Now that her big sis is a queen-in-waiting, Pippa “pert bootahy” Middleton has become too cool for her commoner blood, and has dismissed her banker boyfriend with a flick of her pseudo royal hand;
Shia LeBeouf has revealed he and fellow Transformers cast member Megan Fox did the horizontal mambo – despite the fact the now Mrs Brian Austin Green has been involved with her B.A.G man for over six years;
Rumours are swirling that Rihanna is being lured back into Chris Brown’s woman-beating, foul-mouthed den (though given Riri’s biting “It’s f***ing Twitter, not the alter! Calm Down!” reaction to fans who expressed concern over her rekindled communication with Chris, the girl has officially forfeited her sympathy card);
And Blake Lively’s (call me cynical for deeming it calculated) aspirations of becoming the next live-in leggy blonde in a long line of Leonardo DiCaprio’s girlfriends were cut short, after he declared her “too boring” for his party-boy ways.
But the biggest relationship news of the hour is, of course, the impending nuptials between SA’s very own Charlene Wittstock and Albert II.
On the surface of Monaco’s Côte d’Azur waters, it seems as though Charlene is living out every little girl’s fantasy of being swept off her feet by a balding, podgy playboy prince (hey, at least the man is filthy rich and can woo her with French sweet-nothings), and spending the rest of her days sipping champagne, deciding which designer dress to don, popping out heirs and – given Wittstock’s green spirit – overseeing the odd environmental cause.
However, at some point every little girl has to grow up.
Earlier this week, royal watchers were agog at reports the former Olympic swimmer had taken up a new sport – running – after she supposedly made a beeline for Nice airport and bought herself a one-way ticket back to SA. The cause of Charlz’s consternation? Allegations by an (as yet) unnamed woman that she was carrying Albert’s child.
Naturally the monarch’s reps have denied the claims outright and the couple staged a walkabout in Monte Carlo to quell rumours that the prince’s long-awaited wedding was about to go up in smoke, just days before he was finally set to walk down the aisle.
That said, the question you have to ask is, if the baby mama’s accusations were to prove true, should Charlene be surprised? After all, with two illegitimate children already under his belt (whom he, incidentally, refused to acknowledge until DNA testing proved he was in fact the father), reports of liaisons with “sex-film stars”, persistent whispers that he may be batting for the home – or both – teams and the distinct aura of “commitment phobe” about him, Albert is hardly the epitome of a Prince Charming.
But given that Charlene could very well have already exchanged vows in the civil ceremony (taking place today) by the time you read this, she’ll have to wait for time to reveal whether she has, in fact, found herself a frog.

This is so funny and sad at the same time. The Palace and Albert spent five years to manufacture "the new Princess" and spent hundred millions Euros to recreate a fairy-tale love story and "the wedding of the century" to bring a new light on Monaco and bust the economy. Instead they only magnified everything that is bad and rotten in Monaco. They turned Monaco into a laughing stock and portrait their monarch as a sleazy, mean, controlling, uncaring father and aging womanizer.
This is just few examples what the world thinks about Monaco, their love story and "the wedding or the century":
As for Prince Albert, his attempt to look relaxed, and to reassure his bride by winking at her throughout the ceremony, merely served to make him look sleazy and decrepit.
she’ll have to wait for time to reveal whether she has, in fact, found herself a frog.

At least the whole world now knows what an asshole Albert is and what a stinking dump Monaco has become.

And, she has to hold on for five more years. She is obligated to produce an heir... I wonder what will the Palace, FatAss and Charlz do to keep the marriage last at least the five years the contract has stipulated? They don't have it easy.

I wonder if this 5 year time thing is connected to Lynette saying Charlene wants to have 5 children. So they can say people are getting things mixed up ...?

^Maybe. But i think what Lynette said was something improvised. There were so many rumours about the couple, nasty comments and so, that she came desperatly and exaggerated saying that Charlene wants 5 children. As if the quantity means they are so much happy. I really doubt Charlene wants any children. At least, not any for now. When she realizes that Al is about to leave her, then she will get preggers. I can see her doing that. It seemed so fake to me that in every single interview she said she loves children and wants to start a family right away, when in the PPDA interview she said the famous "give us a break!"

Having messed up all sorts of women in the past who were at some point in love with him, he got it all back, you have to pave your path to happiness slowly, it does not happen overnight. He is carrying bad karma, not the silly family curse, his own curse, he is obviously self destructive. Yes, it would be nice for all involved that this wedding would be the real thing...

Here's another body language expert, Dr. G. "Jack" Brown, weighing in on Albert and Charlene's relationship. This analysis picks up on Albert's emotions more than the others. For me, I felt Albert's look of unhappiness and contempt was extremely glaring. Charlene only became sad and pissed off when she realized that Albert was nopt going to play along and give her a collection of "loving and happy couple" photos so that she and her sugar lunatics could drool over. Remember, Charlene boasted to Vogue just hours before that it was the PHOTOGRAPHS that were going to prove to everyone how in love she and Albert were. It's all about the photographs for this narcissistic con artist.
Romance and Dating Secret # 202: Revealed in a Kiss - Prince Albert and Princess Charlene TUESDAY, JULY 5, 2011
Both Prince Albert of Monaco and his new Princess/Wife Charlene (formerly Charlene Wittstock) both show us (and the World) multiple emotional tells shown in this YouTube video Clip of their Civil Wedding Ceremony on Friday 1 July 2011. Prince Albert is extremely nervous as evidenced by his facial tick. At first this looks like multiple winks of his left eye, but if you watch it carefully, you'll see this is involuntary. These are coexistent with microexpressions of contempt. We don't know who(m) this contempt is directed at - but he is feeling it rather strongly. He also displays a very classic display of a microexpression of fear. His blink rate is considerably more than normal, which is yet another display of anxiety.
Interestingly, the Princess is much less nervous. Charlene also shows contempt, but what is more demonstrable on her face is a great example of a subtle contempt display (while the display is subtle, the contempt is considerable) - immediately followed by sadness.
In this second video, when the couple kisses in the Public Ceremony, the Prince looks nervous once again, and while he closes his eyes before the kiss, he opens them during the kiss. This lack of eye closure during the kiss is a very reliable indicator that true affection was not the primary emotion he was feeling at that moment. If one repeatedly keeps his/her eyes open during kisses with their romantic partner, this is a signal that affection is waning, has waned or perhaps was never there to begin with.

LOL I told you I saw the contempt after they kissed in the court. She was utterly disgusted right after. Those two really do not like each other very much. Not when you dig beneath the surface. And they can't hide it.

A wedding at which both the groom and the bride are exuding contempt for someone, everyone at the ceremony. Now why would anyone think of divorce when they view this 'loving' couple? And where was the bishop who officiated this farce? Is he blind?

Barsi is not blind, i don't think he is, but he is playing along with them...everybody realizes (except the lunatics that live in another dimension) that this couple has no love. Has no interest in each other. They only want to benefit one from the other. Is so f*cking obvious!

And of course he is waiting for his statue in marble in front of the cathedral

I totally agree with you Myadia--it's all about the camera for her! I too have always seen the contempt between them--Charlene probably because she is so self important and Albert lets her run him over and disrespect him and abuse him in private, so she doesn't have any respect for him, and I think he gets back at her when he gets to pull rank on her in public. Because of her arrogance, he night at times actually enjoy her stupidity and in some ways may relish to see her humiliated by it, since I think she likes to try to humiliate him privately, just like she has tried to do in public with her public display of moods. I don't know how much nervousness I see there, because to me she also appears very arrogant and cocky-- very smug. You can tell how contrived the kiss on the balcony was, as she immediately walks up and prepares for it! Both of them when they kiss each other here seem like it takes all they can muster to smack there lips for a split second *very romantic"notice how Charlene immediately looks away and off the side when she kisses Albert--I didn't catch Albert's look. They can't even look at each other in the eye for a moment, and THIS IS THEIR WEDDING DAY! ;D I wonder how uncomfortable it felt for people that attended that day--poor Stephanie seems to be the only one not in on the program--she looks like she believes it is something other than a business deal. I almost feel sorry for her being so naive. Albert, has so much mistrust for Charlene he is afraid to take his eyes off her I guess--he's afraid to keep them closed even long enough for a quick kiss (If you could call it that) ;D Albert is petrified because he is thinking "Who the Bleep did I Marry" Maybe we need a thread with that title--a thread dedicated to Charlene's scary character and actions, and much "hidden" past . I like how this guy describes her contempt as being considerable, but that she tries to disguise it--she is not very good though, because I caught all her little remarks that she couldn't keep to herself in her posts when she thought no one was paying attention or had a chance of knowing who she really was--it made her very obvious and showed the kind of contempt she really has for not only Albert, but for people in general. The remark that she made to Almodovar and to the French PM and in her interviews are full of contempt--it's from her own inflated sense of entitlement in the world. Sandsla, I agree wholeheartedly with you about the contempt that Charlene has displayed for people. Let's not forget her contempt for Grace, Caroline and Stephanie (more pity than contempt). This is why most of all I feel that Albert is a sucker and really doesn't know this woman he married and presented to his people to bow to. If Albert really knew how much contempt that Charlene has for his mother he never would have married her. The irony is most people think, including Albert, that Charlene really admires Grace because she tries to emulate her. They are so wrong - really wrong! Charlene doesn't admire Grace the person, Charlene only wants the fame and worldwide adoration that Grace received. Charlene and her posse have called Grace a slut and have stated many times how Charlene is much better than Grace. If I could pick a truth that I would love revealed about Charlene - it would be her true feelings of contempt that she has for Grace.
