I googled Rainier and Grace's wedding invitation and it read Mr. and Mrs. John B. Kelly etc. There was no "The Palace" at all and Rainier was Sovereign when he married Grace. It was a normal wedding invitation. Albert and his flunkies are delusional. Trying to copy the Queen.

Albert/the Palace have been footing WC and her family's bills for years and they won't be changing it now. The palace had to pay for her dress, her mother dress, bridesmaid dresses and everyone else included. The Palace is paying for all of it, so "they" are inviting. Charlene will be the first wife in a history of the European Royals that didn't bring a one spoon as a dowry.

Personally they could have stuck to Mr and Mrs. format because everyone knows the Wittstocks have no money but they are giving (selling it looks more like with all the sponsors) away their daughter. I just think it's pretentious and that they are trying to elevate themselves to royals which technically they are not. But I see your point. The Wittstocks are not corporate sponsors so they are not entitled to have their name on the invitation. I wonder if they are going to sell umbrellas with the names of the corporate sponsors on it since CW said that rain was good luck. JMO

But she brings South African humor to Monaco. Isn't that something? People should be rolling on the grounds laughing at the wedding day. That would make the news!

Now Albert is about to marry a Princess who does nothing and everything around her turns to and goes down: -the image of the country - the economy - the social climate in the country - the way people work, talk and act and communicate - SBM, AS Monaco ect. - people are striking in Monaco - people from elsewhere stop donating for Charity events in Monaco - there are budget cuts - the rich and famous stay away...

Okay the six bridemaids and pageboys are from Monaco and not of her or his family. I would call this sweet, but knowing Charlene and Albert it´s shows that they really don´t want the attention on someone else. Hope we will have a Grace van Cutsem again!

"Une loi pour rendre fériés les 1er et 2 juillet"! I find their logo very revealing. Fatal is leaning on Trashlene, since he has no spine. Good thing she has these enormous sholders to carry him for the rest of his life. Unless of course, her cruelty will throw him off a cliff.

They can walk from the square to the casino, although it is down one hill and up another, so they'll all arrive sweaty and hot. But we are talking about the environmental prince here. They'll all walk. Not! LOL donna, yes they can walk. takes less then 5 minutes. I don''t see where you are getting he other hill though. It's the same rock and no going down or up, unless you use the walk around the cliff gardens. If you use the road, it's pretty straight ahead. Interesting though that they are using 200 BMW to chauffeur the guests when in England they used buses. I thought they would walk down from the palace cliff, walk along Blvd Albert 1 og Quai Albert 1, up Ave. d'Ostende (rather steep and tiring in massive heat), past Princess Grace theatre, past the little shops and to the Opera building. Perhaps there is a better way. But we used to walk up Ave d'Ostende on our way to Princess Grace theatre when I was there, in July a long time ago, in the heat.

LOL I thought you were talking about walking to the museum; to walk to the opera, they would just have to take the ramp majeur down, turn towards the port, walk around to the loews tunnel / auditoruium Ranier III and take the elevator up straight to the casino terrasse. It's a tad longer but depending on how fast you walk it shouldn't take more then 15min.

I came across an old interview with CAro and Barbara Walters. SHe talks about her parents wedding and that they never looked at any of the pictures and just hated it. Also she says that she and Stefano knew that they were going to get married after 10 days. Quite a diff to the street fair. I know it's about Caro, but I think it is quite interesting put in this context and hea it from one of the people concerned. www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5sIFgvUyck&NR=1

Barbara (7:40): Love at first sight? Caroline: "Oh yes. I mean we knew it. I was just, there was no problem, no question about it We just know." Thanks Paca for the interview link! Now compare this to the dozens of times Albert told the press while dating Trashlene that he wasn't ready to marry( her) and he even stated that he hadn't found the right person yet. I put her in parenthesis because Conlene tried to tell us on these message boards that Albert NEVER stated that he was NOT going to ever marry HER just that he wasn't ready YET. Even after the engagement Albert told PPDA that he only THINKS that Charlene is the one. Yet again, he sated in an interview in Zurich that she wasn't even his soul mate. Oh yes, the beginnings of a perfect foundation for a marriage. NOT! Notice how Caroline states that the press likes to build you up and then tear you down, but not too much because then people won't be interested in you. Conlene will not be able to take any criticism from the press. Now they have given her a full free ride because they wanted Albert to marry her. If they told the truth about her and this relationship they knew Albert wouldn't have married her because of the bad press.

BTW, MyaDia: "Even after the engagement Albert told PPDA that he only THINKS that Charlene is the one" ... that came into my mind today. Don't know why. He said something like he feels comfortable with her at the moment. Sounded like "if this wedding boosts Monacos image and economy - ok, I will do it. She doesn't get on my nerves." ... but CW didn't boost anything and never will bring up anything (wonder if she even brings up this little Albie you know ... ... and CW gets on his nerves by now. Even pretty much. So both conditions for marriage have turned into the opposite.

Plus the curve of the "C" loops back across the top of the A cutting it off. Like the Queen of Hearts that that she is. "Off with his head" or perhaps the curve is just a hangman's noose. Either way, he losses. JMO
