Nice of Mike to make sure that his sister keeps in business.... The Quiz Night was held at Fusions not Star N Bars. Stars N Bars seems to be doing well. They opened another one in Abu Dhabi last fall - with Albert at the grand opening. As long as they can benefit with an association, people will always suck up to Albert and Charlene - no matter what they do. WHERE IT STARTED The original STARSNBARS restaurant in Monaco was created in 1993 by American Kate Powers and Didier Rubiolo of France. Both had been partners at Monaco’s Le Texan Restaurant which had been the principality’s first American restaurant (the restaurant’s name came from Prince Rainier himself). Le Texan , popular for its excellent Tex Mex cuisine, fast, attentive service and its cozy atmosphere, catered to a varied clientele from local families and ordinary working people to millionaires and celebrities. Kate and Didier, however, wanted to create a larger family-oriented venue with a sports theme and the result was STARSNBARS on the Port of Monaco.
The largest privately owned restaurant in Monaco, STARSNBARS was originally an old, abandoned warehouse . SNB is now a three story entertainment complex with portside terrace and offers a full-service restaurant with American cuisine, an authentic USA style sports bar, a second full service restaurant serving Asian cuisine, an extensive game arcade, supervised children’s playroom, professional race car simulators and one of the most extensive celebrity sports museums in the world. And, each May, the restaurant is neighbor to the Monaco Grand Prix “paddocks” where the greatest Formula 1 drivers and their teams set up headquarters during the four day racing event. Plus, throughout the year, the restaurant hosts a multitude of film, music and sport celebrities.

Fusions is the same. they used to have a nightclub on top of stars, now it's Fusions. Stars is low budget, Fusions is more costly; people used to go to the club first and after closing time, they'd move on to stars and then Rascasse. Before the club they used to eat and drink at Texan owned by the mom. It's closed now. past few years it wasn't doing well at all and people only went there out of pity.

For those with tendencies to extreme forward planning: Monacophil, the Monegasque philatelic show/expo will show this year samples from Albert's Rainier's stamp collection. I believe this is a first, but correct me if I'm wrong: Monaco has a stamp and coin museum and I was very surprised (and disappointed) to find out that that didn't contain (parts of) Rainier's famed stamp and coin collection. His car collection has a museum of its own, but his stamps haven't. When Rainier died, there was mention of a stamp collection equal to or bigger than the one by the British queen, depending on the publication of your choice. Elizabeth of course has the biggest one and has lend some pieces to the expo too. (As well as to an expo in Berlin, but that's a different story). No mention of the glorious wedding or the bride, but maybe they are on the special expo stamp. Anyway, I suspect that this might be an excuse for Albert to show up and give his stamp of approval as he has done before once. So for the diary: 2 to 4 December 2011 with the welcome cocktail on December the first. A quick look at the program gives me the impression of an event that's bigger and busier than the wedding for some reason. Not something I'm used to associate with stamp expos. Totally no idea at all about where to put this, but Albert has named a certain Rebecca Rainey Powers Fogiel (bonus points for those that know where the middle names end and the last names start) as honorary vice-consul for Monaco in Dallas (USA). Powers, interesting. What are the bets that this is a relation of? Has anyone ever made a list of all the friends, relations, relations of friends and friends of friends that have an honorary "job" in or for Monaco? The flow chart for Monaco's civil servants must look like a plate of spaghetti: all knots and tangles (and multiple interests).

Interesting. Did you notice Mme Gallico is on that list too? Odd, Eringer & Powers, Eringer and an interest in Monaco business after he left there. Not sure what to think of it. Yet another oddity about Eringer.

Yet another oddity about Eringer. Yes it is really odd having her on the list too. This is the main reason that Eringer telling Powers and Gallico are the good persons in the Palace .

I think it is interesting who is not on the list. Do explain. I'm having a brainfreeze and am not capable to think about it. Besides, I probably wouldn't know the answer even if I did think about it.

Well, Alberts great friend and lawyer Of course, how could I forget? Thanks for the reply. Did you read Eringer's reply about this? About just being a minor shareholder?
