Prince Albert in St. Moritz without his snow bunny


The noble ski resort received an important visitor: Monaco's Prince stopped over in the Engadine. But wife Charlene left no footprints in the snow.

Also with royals not everything goes always according to protocol: due to heavy snowfall on Friday Albert II of Monaco (53) couldn't land with his private jet in Samedan GR.

The prince had to switch to Zurich-Kloten. From there he went very commonly by train to St. Moritz GR, where Albert was supposed to take part in the charity bobsled race "Historic Race" - but that had to be postponed until 2013 because of the weather.

But these mishaps couldn't spoil Albert's good mood: "I had a very enjoyable trip. I love to travel by train in beautiful Switzerland", he told the SonntagsBlick reporter who met the Prince in St. Moritz. And the canceled race? "Too bad, but I'll now probably go skiing instead", he said and took - again very commonly - a sip of beer from the bottle.

And where was his beautiful wife Charlene (33)? "She's in Milan, she has a couple of appointments there" says Albert. And after a pause, with an impish smile, "Well, she goes shopping."

In love and less cool

On Thursday the two appeared holding hands at the opening of the Circus Festival in Monte Carlo. The couple seemed to be in love, less cool than at the wedding in July.

What is Albert's secret to a happy marriage? "You have to enjoy the shared experiences consciously without being glued to each other. Everyone needs time alone or with friends. This understanding is very important."

So CC wasn't with him during his whole trip they just appeared together at the circus festival. It's just like I/we have always said they live separate lives. But CC has now what she has always wanted she doesn't have to be nice to him anymore she just can go shopping and blow out the money and appear at certain events to get her fix. PA is so dumb.

Albert was nominated a patron of World Olympian Association. This title seems strictly honorary, Albert will have nothing to do just posing to photo ops -- his fave job anyway. Interesting that after allegations that Albert as member of IOC was bribed by Russians everybody is quiet, most likely IOC 'forgot' about the whole issue, and now Albert got a title after Samaranch, who was a shady figure too.

Exactly Taz! Recall, Albert was the one who stated that Charlene was different than all the other women since she didn't seem interested in the trappings of his life (the money and fame). When he stated that Con Artist Charlene knew she had suckered him - cha ching - all she had to do was continuing playing the "I am so simple" (as not interested in fame, glam and money) and wait patiently for the ring. Seeking the press and shopping is all that Charlene do and care about - she just doesn't have o pretend that she doesn't care about those things now.

He is still in need of some growing up. No wonder he has the wife he has. Monaco is ruled by someone who has just reached puberty. Since he is in that condition for thirtysomething years I do not think he will reach a higher level of developement. Good for him that he had rich parents.

I agree he appears to be about the emotional age of a 14 year old. As for the rich parents, Rainier should have made him earn his own money when he was younger. Perhaps then he would have some respect for the working class. One can only hope that his reign over Monaco will not last long and he will step aside. If the economy keeps going down, perhaps he will be asked too. JMO
