I was once in Tonga and was amazed how small the Royal Palace is. Lovely garden but again small one with the local football field right next to it. I only have good things to say about Tongans. They are old fashioned traditional and so welcoming. Church services in Tonga are most amazing. Music is playing a great part with brass ensembles and amazing choirs. The King goes to church every Sunday where he can be met by everyone without ceremonial or bodyguards. RIP Majesty. I know you will be missed by your people. King of Tonga dies in Hong Kong hospital: ReportNUKA'ALOFA (AFP) - The King of Tonga George Tupou V died on Sunday in a Hong Kong hospital, the Matangi Tonga Online reported, but there was no immediate confirmation from Tongan authorities. 'It was (in) Hong Kong, and the Crown Prince Tupouto'a Lavaka was there at the hospital just before the king passed away,' the brief report said. 'This news is yet to be officially confirmed but our reliable source informed us that the king was rushed to hospital early this afternoon but it is understood that he had passed away a few hours later.'. Government and royal palace officials in Tonga were not immediately available to comment on the report that the 63-year-old monarch had died. www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/World/Story/STIStory_778985.html

Tonga in mourning over death of King George Tupou V The South Pacific nation of Tonga is in mourning following the death of its king, George Tupou V, at the age of 63. Prime Minister Lord Tu'ivakano has called for prayers and described this time as a moment when a "black storm cloud" is engulfing the country. A BBC correspondent says that flags are flying at half mast and civil servants have been told to wear black. The king died at a hospital in Hong Kong on Sunday with his brother, Crown Prince Tupouto'a Lavaka, by his side. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-17429122
