Great article MyAdia. I bet they hide Charlotte in some really plain unattractive outfit so she won't distract from the bride. I bet Charlene wants Charlotte far far away from the wedding because like the article said, she will be the Pippa of this wedding.

^^ It doesn't matter if her dress is awful, unless they hide her face.
Imo she doesn't much fashion sense or good posture, but with her face I suppose it doesn't matter.

CHarlotte has a pretty face, but Caro has an aura that would make you notice her if she wasn't having a title and wore a rubbish bag for a dress. I think in spite of her face CHarlotte can walk around pretty much unnoticed.

Thanks for the photos! She has several horses in her string it seems. I hope it wasn't as hot there as it is here on the East coast. We've been hosing down the horses twice a day because of the heat. Needless to say it's too hot to ride! I'll have to look up the results and see how Charlotte did.

She fell off of Tintero and her second horse refused to jump. He probably sensed fear or lack of confidence in Charlotte.

Can't tell really tell what she might have done wrong on the refusal except that since she took the first part of the oxer down when he stopped, she probably got in too deep (left too close and he couldn't do it). Her grey horse looks like a distance issue too. She has moved up a division since last year and sometimes the courses are just plain tough to ride. Since both horses had a problem, it's rider error- most likely not finding the right distance to the fence. This comes with experience and practice. Every rider has days like this one. As they say in the jumper world, "rails happen". She'll go home and work on it and come back next time and do better. The good news is both horses and Charlotte are ok.

now i feel old, feels like yesterday she was a little girl with a big bow in her hair Congrats and happy birthday.
JMO but to be a champion takes daily practice, hard, long, practice. i wish she'd either get serious or stop before she hurts herself. in my experience 99.9 out of 100, these kind of accidents ARE not the horses fault, i'm used to western riders but i've never thought she had a natural "seat", you either have it or not, an almost mystical oneness with the horse, i have never sensed that in photos with charlotte JMO

LOL I remember that I was here for the first time when she was born. I was staying at the youth hostel in Menton and we heard fireworks or sth in the evening. The next day it was in the paper that Charlotte was born. Little did I know then that I would spend more then a vacation here and that my own children would be brought into this world in the presence of the same doctor, in the same hospital....Time flies.
as to her riding, I think you are right. My cousin is a European champion in Western riding and she lives and breathes riding. I don't know her any different since she is little. Riding is a way of life not a lifestyle. Zara Philips and Princess Anne are horse people. CHarlotte isn't. SHe looks good in the clothes and probably does better then others, but she does have the money for the best horses, which others do not have. If she was serious, she would be less seen with the jetset and spending more time on the back of a horse. I think it is in a way just sth to keep her busy. Like the other things she is said to do when she isn't going out or on holidays. It's funny, but none of Caro's kids seem to be doing any thing in ways of a real job that has them getting up early each morning and working fix hours. With Charlotte I guess she will eventually marry and have kids, but the brothers just seem to be jetsetting, not doing anything worth mentioning...pretty much like their uncle

Well, I have to defend Charlotte's riding. Yes she had a bad day, but sometimes we just have bad days. Her riding actually has improved a lot since last year. She is jumping in a higher division. A lot has to do with the course designer. Some courses are just tougher than others, and some courses play to a horse and rider's strength and sometimes to their weakness. My daughter does well in the power and speed classes where there is "gallop" room because she's on a former steeplechaser. Those long legs of his just eat the ground. So a course with gallop room is to her strength. Tight turns and angles with no gallop space are more challenging to her. It looked to me like Charlotte was having problems getting her distances. This could be for any number of reasons. I'm sure she will go home and work on it. She is in the amateur division so she's not riding against the pros. Zara Phillips is essentially a pro. She has committed herself to her sport. I'm not sure that Charlotte has that dedication or the talent. This is not a weakness or a sin. She may just enjoy the challenge of the sport where as Zara is going for the gold - a whole different mindset.
paca has a point which is what to the trio do with their time when they aren't on vacation or partying?

Well, we don't know what they do when they aren't on vacation because press has decided to sell them as people that only parties and do superficial stuff...if they would work (which we don't know) press wouldn't sell it.
Happy Birthday Charlotte!

Charlotte is apparently on the cover of French Vogue this month with a huge photo-shoot. So much for the new flagship of Monaco being a style icon. JMO

Charlotte is apparently on the cover of French Vogue this month with a huge photo-shoot. So much for the new flagship of Monaco being a style icon. JMO Charlene has been sucking up to everyone at Conde Naste trying to get a Vogue cover. Actually, the flagship of Monaco is probably trying for the cover of US Vogue. Good luck with Anna Conlene. Here's the Paris Vogue cover of Charlotte. Mario Testino did the photographs. I think this photo makes her too hard, but there is still something I like about it. Charlotte is a natural beauty so they cover doesn't look like a wax doll working in a bordello.
