Todays paper has an article on Albert attending Rio. He says that he is pessimistic and basically that he doesn't think that it will change anything....duh. With all the financial problems the world is busy with, there is no time nor mony left to save the globe. He should kick himself in the butt as he has done practically nothing about the incinerator nor has he installed all the sundeflector that he promissed in 2005. YOu can't point fingers, when you aren't willing to do anything yourself. What message does he have to relate? That a small place like his is incapable of change so the big stateshave an excuse? Officially he will be talking about the sea, but I don't see how that has any credibility, when at the same time he intends to destroy it by building yet another extension.... Does the man ever listen to himself and the rubbish he is talking? www.monacomatin.mc/societe/le-prince-albert-ii-au-sommet-rio-20.903016.html

By contrast, Prince Charles issued a video message instead of loading a bigger carbon imprint by going.

Yes, but he doesn't need an excuse to get away from Camilla and hang out with prostitutes. Not mentioning that Charles has been green (and mocked severely for it) way before it became fashionable with Royalty and politicians. Albert only turned green because no one in MC cared about this and thats the only thing they would allow him to do as he couldn't cause much harm there. It has become the only topic apart sport he ever speaks about andis allowed to speak about. Don't expect them to allow him to talk about serious things like the abortion law, the SBM losses etc. It would scare people to death if he would be allowed to voice an opinion about how to turn things around in the company that provides his family and the state with income and is a major employer in MC. 3600 people are working for them.

Link to the conference website: www.uncsd2012.org/Monaco's message on ocean sustainability (video link at the bottom, didn't watch it, so don't know if Albert is in it). www.uncsd2012.org/index.php?page=view&nr=641&type=230&menu=39 ETA: Just ignore this one, it's from December last year. There are more things that are old, in spite of the website being for 2012 and for the Rio +20 conference. Oh well.... Just search on Monaco and several hits come up. Not a much viewed website btw. One hit per page seems to be the norm.

I really haven't been following Albert's trip in RIO, but here are some photos. Prince Albert II of Monaco, center, speaks with members of his staff during the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, or Rio+20, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Thursday, June 21, 2012.

Lol, I should be offered a job as regular commentator I guess in the olden days I might have made a good court jester. At least there would have been one person allowed to tell the truth without a beheading the next morning....Alas, the audience would have been barely satisfactory: too few people around to catch the joke and those who might have, too busy sticking their heads up someones derriere...so difficult to listen when you are trying to push yourself through all that sh** and past those other buttkisser to come in first...especially since in those days there was no preparation H and vaseline...

"She is where? Doing what?" They probably just heard what barbie is doing. ETA: on topic: www.un.org/sg/statements/index.asp?nid=6143 Ban Ki-Moon made a special mention (or planned to make in any case) of Albert in his speech.

Here are some high definition photos of Albert during the general session on yesterday, June 21, 2012. He really is looking more and more haggard these days. Pic1Pic2

Do you think he will fly to the US for the weekend to pick trashy and the inlaws up or home?
