Jacques is actually a name that is commonly found in South Africa, especially in the Afrikaans-speaking community - along with other French names such as André and Francois. This is due to the quite influential French heritage in South Africa. I think it will fall easily on the Wittstock tongues.

Call me dubious, but I'm still not buying that they came from her. No one can look that "good" and i don't think she would even want to "damage" her body with that double ordeal. Bet they will really protect the DNA and true identity of the kids. I was wondering the same thing... She looked rather "flat" for having twins on her last published pictures. I smell a (big) fish...

Wow Albert you can't even name your own kid. JMO.

I vote for tourists out for a stroll. Certainly looks that way. They had to resort to the bars to get shots of people celebrating. How sad for Monaco. JMO.

.....and the sad thing is Albert probably thinks they are just tired celebrants for the birth of his twins. Let them eat cake! JMO.

Looking at MC Matin, there did not seem to be that many people up there at the Palace. They probably made it look like there was a crowd, with the reality being more like a gathering.

I can't wait to find out the weights of these 2. If they were normal, she would have needed a wheelchair on National Day (just 3 weeks ago). instead she was posing in stilettos. There must have been a lot of "non-disclosure" statements signed and many bribes given out to keep this ruse a secret. AND I can't wait to see Lynette around. Where is she? Recovering?

Gabriella is easy to pronounce. And Jacques...pretty sure trashy will call him Jack. As will the shitstocks. "Gabriella Grimaldi" is phonetically repetitious IMO and hard sounding though I like the name Gabrielle/a generally. Prince Jacques...? Oh well, it could have gone so much more atrociously I suppose. I can't wait to hear what the more royal middle names will be.

According to German press reports the names of the twins go back to:
Jacques - Jacques I. of Monaco, husband of Louise-Hippolyte Honoré - name of 5 Princes of Monaco Rainier - Albert's father of course Gabriella - Yolande Martine Gabriella de Polastron, Duchess of Polignac (lived in the 18th century) Thérèse Marie - Marie-Thérèse Grimaldi, Marquise of San Martino (lived in the 18th century)
Even if this isn't true I highly doubt that the Trashstocks had any say in the naming of the twins. IMO any palace employee has more power than they have.
agentf: don't know what you mean... Their full names and titles are: Prince Jacques Honoré Rainier, Marquis of Baux and Princesse Gabriella Thérèse Marie, Comtesse de Carladès

Thanks, I hadn't heard the other names. Marie-Thérèse is a classic. Honoré Rainier, very good also. I guess Jacques will be pronounced Jack as in the Kelly's? Wow Albert you can't even name your own kid. JMO. well, I think it was on the list they got to chose from. If it happens to be one common in SA then I think that's not a bad choice. It's easy for them to pronounce and it is a name that runs in his family. Both parents served. After all names should be agreed on by both parents, even if one is usually more into it then the other. The father of my kids thought you could wait after they were born, look at them and then decide. Well, I was against it (and MC law asks you to register the kids within 3 days, so not a lot of time; plus in hospital they like to have the names first) because that's when IMO kids end up with the names that are popular rather then what suits them (end you end up with 3 or 4 in class with pupils getting numbered or assigned different names to tell them apart), their surname etc. So I narrowed things down and the day before I was admitted, we decided on the names. Classic names, international spelling and pronunciation wise (which I found especially important given that they had to learn 3 languages from the start) plus I wanted to add sth to their names that would evoke sth positive in people. I think Gabriella has that in her name and so has Charlottes Raphael. Gabriella is also a name that is common in variations so I think the kids will be fine with their names in the long run. I still haven't warmed to Jacques, as I think it's the name of a little old man, but I don't like the name George either as I also find it to be an old man's name. Well, so are William and Henry, but neither is called that in private. Albert is also such a name. His second name would have been a better choice IMO. Classic and modern too. I really like Victorias choice. It's modern and at the same time points to the roots of her family. Plus it has sth light and young to it and by the looks of things, it fits her perfectly.

That would be swinging a bit wide. She can't possibly be a Catholic Monégasque to say such an enormity. Honestly.

And here's the video of Albert announcing the births. He says exactly what it's written in the letter. At 1:03 he says it in english.

JMO. and you will always find people drinking there anyways. As you may noticed they didn't toast with champagne... so I guess they just oblidge the journalists and got their pics taken.... not like in the UK.
