I won't lie, I'm glad to see Trump in rear view. I think it's a coming-of-age, that the US has come out strongly for what they believe in. I can't wait to have less to say from now on. If I had a crystal ball, I'd love to see the following happen next:
US foreign aid be premised on no human rights violations, no illegal occupation nor annexation
The nuclear accord be reentered on the condition of non-interference in Yemen
Arms sales be conditioned on open, declared wars that follow UN conventions ergo no guerrilla warfare or terrorism, and;
Terms of engagement follow strict processes and if war is inevitable, must be in a specific, non-civilian theater where warring sides and their allies are calibrated in numbers
White collar crime receive the same degree of punishment as blue-collar crime
The latest "Russian" hacking of US agencies sound like Kushner letting the gate open after selling access so foreigners can take a test drive of the mayhem they can do later after Trump is gone. Pity Edward Snowden can't be brought in to ferret stuff out, but his gratitude to Russia is kryptonitish probably. I so would revise all the systems upgrades done in the last 4 years, since more events happen to other countries' systems whether through the electric grid, alarm systems, sparking fires and IT glitches. Gremlins.
Congratulations to "Duracell Biden" who's working late on his first day 👍🏻 And who's returned the US into the Paris Accord. The Inauguration had the freshness and congeniality epitomized to perfection by the first national poet. Bravo 🇺🇸 ❤
I'm over the moon that the new administration is going to reunite children separated from their parents at the US-Mexico border. They're reversing the savage Stephen Miller policy of caging people and separating families.
I wish someone found that guy a cage, deprived him of human contact and amenities and let him sleep on the floor without a toilet. There's a ring of hell for wimpy crazy shits like him.
Well, considering Trump endangered Pence and Pelosi who were the presidential chain of succession, so that he might impose martial law and remain president in the event of their death, I think it's over to a martial court to convict him.
I look forward to seeing Dr Jill Biden with QE2 after the G7. There hasn't really been much to comment on so far, primarily because she's been effortlessly a great charm offensive by her husband's side ever since the VPship. She's truly an all-American woman, personable and accomplished, with heart. Considering HM's closeness to Angela Kelly, I imagine there will be something organic between the ladies. One thing for sure, QE2 won't this time around be posing with a former nudely-displayed, non-biodegradable, First Lady. Instead, they'll have more common ground and potentially a soft diplomatic channel for topics such as Harry. It's rumoured Jill Biden will also be meeting with Catherine. Another easy fit there. Maybe the more complex encounter would be with Camilla who's got a certain British humour that might be more of a curve ball, but who knows. Camilla is pretty hands-on too, ã l'Américaine, so topics such as the rebellious puppy Major might come up. And get settled 😄 (pheromone plug-ins & Pet Rescue Remedy) I digress. Happy meetings to the ladies!
I only have this to say about Governor Cuomo: he maybe should have slept with hookers like Trump, he would have been in the clear in America (!?!) smh 🤦🏻♀️
Nevertheless, it was not edifying conduct, but no one kept America sane like Cuomo did week after week, and he was the only effective counterweight to a Pied Piper who at last count is responsible for over half a million unnecessary casualties.
Only Republicans will excuse mysogyny in the pursuit of their goals, whereas it's undemocratic to not hear out the ladies.
Please let's not be dragged into WW3 via Afghanistan. It will set the world back so far. This generation is not the type that will mobilize behind a foreign war. We must get to the source of the antagonism even if we have to go back a century. With Russian naval warships crossing the English channel, I see a suicide sandwich for everything between. Talk, parlay, deal. There's no more places for migrants to go. Food security is beyond capacity. Find the great minds of today to try to reason with actors. And please leave Kissinger at home. There's someone out there who can fix this.
So... who's the "junior minister Lord Goldsmith" who (purposely?) didn't make the call but whose behind it's being asked of the US to cover and on whose behalf the Biden administration is being abused? Yeah right, better off with Trump, because they're in bed.
And finally, what does it tell you when Trump kisses @$$?
You're not very subtle. Besides, why not ask your ex-wife to have government loans floated? "Incentivized", you're funny. Lest someone be totally situationally-challenged, however the Taliban did not arrive to be the government in regular continuation of the previous Afghan administration. It's galling to reject a political format but ask for its trappings...!?! I think you're asking people to adopt a schizophrenic version of events. Pay Taliban for the prospect they'll be nice to Afghan women? That's holding your own people hostage AND it's blackmail based on foreign sensibilities. That's kind of low, no? So the onus for being decent and civil should be elsewhere than on those who assert themselves as superior without proof? 🤔 It's like holding a mirror image to detract, while fleecing more foreign billions. How do you attempt to bend the will of others to your aims while showing no goodwill???
I'm stomped. And I regularly try to see the other side. But this is rich.
Good speech 👌🏼 Seriously Biden's speechwriter did an excellent job. I had to go study but I caught most of it and although the task ahead for the US is humongous, it takes a team player and Biden's the poster boy of that. I'm seriously considering moving to the US next year, whereas it was only recently that Americans were considering moving to Canada. I want to roll up my sleeves too. I'd like to be there when America transcends. 👍🏼
While fresh on the mind, after following the trace of the Tofino owners of the house Trudeau stayed in and coming upon their partner, Nathan Jacobson, it's eerie how it turns out the latter received DOJ absolution:
Thanks Meghan McCain, for quoting Jack Kerouac... I believe my godfather/university professor was a friend of his, but don't quote me. 😉 I agree there were no winners.
Jack Kerouac infamously wrote: ‘There was no end to the American sadness and the American madness’.
Its author, Jean-Louis Lebris de Kerouac—Jack Kerouac—became an overnight celebrity. The handsome, shy, charming devout Catholic was lionized as the voice of a new generation, the Beats. For his part, he thought of the Beats as “a generation of beatitude and tenderness.” But much to his distress, he and the Beats became symbols of reckless freedom, sexual licence and self-indulgence.
Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Friedman is not alone in pointing the finger at Netanyahu and Trump, who together represented the greatest double act that pro-Israel groups could have wished for. Former Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Ya'alon was equally scathing in his assessment. "Looking at the policy on Iran in the last decade," he told Haaretz, "the main mistake was the withdrawal from the [nuclear] agreement." Ya'alon, who was defence minister under Netanyahu from 2013 to 2016, explained that although he opposed the Iran deal at the time of its signing during the Obama administration, withdrawing from it was an even greater error.
A predecessor of Netanyahu, Ehud Barak, echoed Ya'alon's sentiments.
