A fetching couple, getting married: www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-11095085/Prince-Ludwig-Bavaria-announces-engagement-Oxford-student-Sophie-Alexandra-Evekink.htmlCongratulations to them. I have fond memories of Bavaria in my youth as a model for Louisa Models. Work-wise it was summer, so I barely worked but my friends Lily & Alberto (or Roberto?) - a fun, slightly hypochondriac Cuban and an Italian heir to a toy manufacturer - made the summer memorable. I stayed at "Pension Frank" in Munich, briefly, and was introduced to vollkornbrot (I suspect it was for seniors...🤔) and Lily & I soon discovered the flip side of the English Gardens when she tried swimming in a creek there and a man disrobed and made us scurry. 😳 I sat in the nearby cathedral, Ludwigskirche, and could hear the centuries whispering. Then the visit to Dachau was a record scratch to an almost idyllic albeit unseasonable summer. Beyond that, it was architecturally beautiful and zany. The visit to Ludwig II's castle was a highlight. 🤔 I just remembered I left a paycheque at LM after pretexting my dad's ill health when it got too cold and rainy in August. Oops 🙊

* "Roberto" (not Alberto), courtesy of a recent dive into my archives for someone. He made a great pasta carbonara 👌🏼 for our little group of friends. Pension Frank's "Claudia" popped up too. Good times.
