The royal, 40, is the eldest son of Prince Luitpold and the great-great grandson of Bavaria's last King Ludwig III, while Sophie was born in Singapore to a Dutch-Canadian family.
Congratulations to them. I have fond memories of Bavaria in my youth as a model for Louisa Models. Work-wise it was summer, so I barely worked but my friends Lily & Alberto (or Roberto?) - a fun, slightly hypochondriac Cuban and an Italian heir to a toy manufacturer - made the summer memorable. I stayed at "Pension Frank" in Munich, briefly, and was introduced to vollkornbrot (I suspect it was for seniors...🤔) and Lily & I soon discovered the flip side of the English Gardens when she tried swimming in a creek there and a man disrobed and made us scurry. 😳 I sat in the nearby cathedral, Ludwigskirche, and could hear the centuries whispering. Then the visit to Dachau was a record scratch to an almost idyllic albeit unseasonable summer. Beyond that, it was architecturally beautiful and zany. The visit to Ludwig II's castle was a highlight.
🤔 I just remembered I left a paycheque at LM after pretexting my dad's ill health when it got too cold and rainy in August. Oops 🙊
