This serious newspaper writes the same as what is already said here. Their public actions in South Africa, such as the meeting with president Zuma, were according to reports presented as stage/acting: the two left in separate cars. www.standaard.be/artikel/detail.aspx?artikelid=DMF20110712_032(The serious French newspapers get too much comment of the readers. The readers are not interested in A&C-show.) ;D

Many thanks Margarita for all your hard work in finding articles for us. Yes it's true that riders "retire on course" when they have not done well. Sometimes they get "the horn" to leave the ring when they aren't smart enough to retire on course. The horn for those that don't ride is what the timer uses to tell you to start the course and what they use when your wasting their time because you've taken too many rails down or had more than one refusal. Needless to say the press is starting to toot their horns for Albert and Charlene to leave the "ring". Well ... that's what I can contribute from where I am and what I know ;-) The tactic to boost Monaco's image and economy was obviously ENTIRELY based on a virtual media image with a plastic face starring (very congruent). The BUNTE article from November 2011 -when Charlene was announced flag ship of Monaco - is IMHO a clear evidence for that: Charlene conquered all enemies in Monaco because she is so powerful abroad. (read: glossy magazines compare her to Grace because she is blond - magazines bought mostly by woman and mostly by woman with a certain professional+academic background -or rather lack of thereof = not the kind of people Monaco depends on.) It was evident to everyone with more than two brain cells that a) ... it is highly dangerous to tie the image and economy of an entire country ONLY to one person and one event and build on MEDIA: they are like a shoal - you can't control them and they act like a shoal ... suddenly they turn. All at once. b) ... it is suicidal to do this when this person totally lacks of substance and skills required for this role AND is to lazy to do at least what she could have done (learn French? finish school?) and when the meaning of the event (here: wedding, meaning: love) is undermined by a bride who is reported to have taken money to marry and a groom who is facing paternity tests. They were not smart enough to figure out that their tactic was in real a strategy: fake instead of substance, faux tale instead of real emotions, plastic vs. organic ect. Charlene is only a symptom on the tactical level but SYMBOL of this brainblond strategy ... widely seen and noticed even by everyone who doesn't read glossy magazines with one clear message: THIS COUNTRY IS A TRASHY DECADENT SOAP OPERA. PEOPLE OF SUBSTANCE - STAY AWAY, THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR YOU. And this is spreading out in all spheres of Monaco . They dicided to build on quicksand and now they are getting the bill... Time out Stahl & Co. Get new advisors and once media start to write about icy calculating Charlene who had secret meetings with journalists already back in 2006 because she saw her future with a wealthy VIP Prince ... simply let it happen and prepare the divorce . There is something positive in getting disenchanted: you might focus on what is real and constructive now .

Don't these two dimwits know how distasteful this sounds. Two dimwits have a child knowing that they plan to divorce and then the child will be raised in a broken home by a philandering father. Whether this is truly their mission or not, they need to get this report off the pages. This is greatly damaging Monaco. They need to call it quits, have no children and just go their separate ways.

The Internationale union of the Journalists seeks hopelessly a cushy job for Stephan Bern. What appeared a love match, would be can be ONLY in “complicity” the prince not being that of the dream of Charlène which dreamed to be a new KELLY Grace ........ unforgettable Star KELLY Grace ....... star between all the stars. I print this article and the refile with my neighbor who likes to nourish gossip, small stories of no importance of princely couples which are bored terribly in spite of banking accounts provided well. J'imprime cet article et le refile à ma voisine qui aime se nourrir de ragots, de petites histoires sans importance de couples princiers qui s'ennuient terriblement malgré des comptes en banque bien pourvus.--- is necessary to stop always wanting to make dream people with all these pseudo account of fairies, especially the children (small girls) I says to them: the marriage, it is can, the love it is not very pink and the honeymoons go back to another time… pfff but good even my girlfriend wants nothing to hear there. -- Poor Stephan Bern who dribbles like one complexed on the life of these “princes and princesses” born with dough and with which one unrolls the red carpet everywhere where they goes. At the bottom, one types of it life of crowned. Plaquage springbok-- you did not include/understand anything, it acts here of platonic love like Emma Bovary vous n'avez rien compris, il s'agit ici d'amour platonique comme Emma Bovary-- Never considering a couple also badly matched! How is what it does with old-fashioned similar!!! And then, why would it be necessary to wait 20 years to make room apart? Et alors, pourquoi faudrait il attendre 20 ans pour faire chambre à part ?-- could one please have infos on behalf of the cleaning ladies! pourrait on avoir des infos de la part des femmes de ménages svp !-- This coldness of married had been already noticed, at the time of the ceremony retransmitted on television. During the mass, it looked right in front of it, the glance absent, while turning very seldom the eyes towards the prince who appeared a little constrained about it. The rare kisses were of pure form, without obvious heat. It is rather clear that there was different before the marriage, because the 2 new husbands should have behaved in a way much nearer in front of the media to the whole world during an event than the prince had precisely wanted very mediatized. It would be surprising that this marriage lasts well a long time, in spite of the dynastic needs for the prince. Il serait surprenant que ce mariage dure bien longtemps, malgré les besoins dynastiques du prince.--- Admitting that this marriage is really the calamity described in the newspapers, this history is more interesting than it does not appear to with it with my taste because it shows all the capacity of the human being has to make the bad choice in spite of a so large potential be happy and in plenitude with oneself same. Thus this Charlene who could have married which it wanted could have chosen a simpler husband but corresponding to him better, but while renoncant with the record of the court… And the Prince could also have avoided himself many winds and other nuisances while being clearer on his intentions. But good the man is made in such manner that it makes the bad choice often consciously. Which is the reason of that? Response to question: the money Sir, the money. It would be astonishing that it only now discovers the ex of her husband. Obviously they would be tedious which it procreated since they are ensemble. DSK would thus have followers?

Thanks mrszink for posting and translating this! I just scanned the German tabloids at the grocery store. They made a few titles, many of them speak about problems, even divorce! In the latest edition of GRAZIA www.grazia-magazin.de/news/grazia-magazin/GRAZIA-Magazin-28-2011I read the article Alber & Charlene: What is truly going on in Monaco? An insider tells us more. They repeat all the rumors we already know, but the interesting point is this: A "society Lady" (the anonymous insider) told GRAZIA that people in Monaco don't like Charlene and one of the reasons is, that she didn't learn French during all those years. She also said that the people in Monaco love Albert very much and that they are totally behind him, whatever happens. The author commented on these two statements: "This sounds almost like a threat." My thought: Am I going to far interpreting that the locals where happy if he got rid of her and would be ready to forgive much if he got back on track and rid of CW?

I think the same, Margarita. She has not learned the language, history and culture; Nothing! She parades around in expensive clothing without contents on international events. Monaco needs the media. But also contents. She has added nothing to Monaco…

Hi everyone, I moved the original article about PA Wittstock confirming the separate hotel rooms and the following discussion to the following thread: Slept in Diff Hotels, Cut Honeymoon & Flew to MC!. I understand it really is almost impossible not to cross discuss topics in diferent threads, especially when it reinforces the point that you want to make, so I do not mind at all when that happens. Of course talk about the couple and the wedding can go in this Wedding in the Press and Media thread, but please post any NEW information such as links to article or photos about the honeymoon in the honeymoon thread.

Thanks MyAdia - I was already confused where to post the new links about different hotels because many articles speaking about unhappy marriage refer to it (in the context of all the other rumors ... ) Every article about the marriage will now include information about the honeymoon fiasco - so please do not post articles about the wedding/marriage in the other thread just because it mentions the honey moon. Most wedding/marriage articles still should be posted here in this thread. Specially, the article about Pa Wittstock confimring that Albert and Charlene did indeed have separate hotel rooms should go in the thread about he separate hotels.

This reporter from South Africa's popular YOU magazine went to Monaco to cover the wedding. She is convinced that Albert and Charlene is a happy and in love couple, but it seems that not all her colleagues agree with her. This reporter feels like Pa Wittstock has been begging South Africans to do - support Charlene unconditionally. The reporter calls her "Our Charlene." I wonder how long she will stay in Charlene's corner as more of the truth is revealed.
YOU brings you all the glitz and glamour from Monaco in a 16-page picture special, from the Catholic wedding ceremony in the Prince’s Palace courtyard to the many famous guests strutting their stuff on the red carpet and the exclusive reception at Monte Carlo’s Opera Garnier and Casino Terraces.
YOU writer Alet van Zyl was on the streets of Monaco to savour the South African flavourCharlene brought to the grand affair and spoke to some Monagasques who were all won over by our charming princess.
Alet also had the chance to chat with vocal group Romanz who performed at the afterparty. Here's the YOU article where she discusses the differences among the YOU staff. I love Charlene.

If I had to answer our poll question below I would have to say yes! Charlene Wittstock’s marriage to Prince Albert has caused so many arguments, discussions and bets on our floor and of course
I feel my take on it is the right one. Naysayers declared she looked unhappy, didn’t catch Albert’s eye often enough and seemed aloof and distant.
I didn’t see that. I saw our beautiful Charlene looking graceful and serene but understandably tense.
How would you feel with all the gossip doing the rounds about Albert’s shenanigans and knowing millions of people were watching your every move from all around the world?
And the heat! And the long ceremony! And in French! Of course the poor woman was feeling anxious. Look at the pictures of her leaving the ceremony – she’s smiling more readily and looking far more relaxed.
And at the glamorous after-party she seemed happy and unstressed at the side of her new husband.
We hope you enjoy the wedding special as much as we loved putting it together – I couldn’t get enough of the gorgeous Grimaldi family and the beautiful guests. A real feast for the eyes.
