"If you give me your order, I'll give you my order." Must be a game they play to acquire all those orders to hang on to their fancy suits. Like awards for those who can't compete in anything. Empty tokens of their meaningless lives. Something like that. I remember a newspaper article (Daily Mail?) from a few years ago about something like this. Some event in the UK (jubilee?) and Charles shows up with quite a few medals on his uniform. Looks very impressive. So the paper calls the palace to ask what all those medals are for. As it turns out, they were (almost) all "memorial" medals: medals for being present at the enthronement of his mother, for being present at several jubilees of his mother. And I thought also one for being present at his own wedding and/or birthday... It shows what tough cookies those royals really are and how much importance one should attach to those flashy medals they're flaunting. If anyone wants to know exactly: google and chuckle. I found this one from 2004: news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/6147544.stmThere is one thing that can be said about Albert, I've never seen him with much medals on his chest. I believe he only wears the Monegasque ones, for being the head honcho of the order of Grimaldi and the order of St. Charles.

Difficult to recognize. I'd look for a new artist, those permanent ones of Albert didn't look to good either.

Did I miss a visit to Saudi-Arabia? I just read that Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud has been named a grand officer in the order of Grimaldi. What did he do to deserve this? Accepted barbie as his tenth wife or something? It kind of comes across as a kindly state visit exchange of orders, but I haven seen any visit to Saudi-Arabia (yet). And generally the publication of those orders comes after the visit.

Then at least they will be continuing the family tradition...

True. But I find it hard to defend her or feel (very) sorry for her. She hung around for so long before they got engaged and married. After that, can you still say she didn't know what to expect? And she wasn't a starry-eyed 18-year old either.

So, an(other) indication that barbie is being phased out? It's remarkable how much she hasn't showed up since the birth. Pretty soon she won't show up at her own birthdays and doctor's appointments.

Agreed. Who is the man in the 3rd photo? Is he pointing at something or at the paparazzi?
Pointing at the cameras? Saying something like "look, those guys are evil. If you ever see them again: sue their butts off!" ? ETA: are they really paparazzi pics? They seem pretty good quality, kind of "spontaneously" posed.

Are they trying to imply that barbie and Albert ever lived together? I mean, it's just continuing as they did before, living alone, alone. Where's the news in that?
Emmeline, I always assumed that the born-royal got full custody in case of any royal divorce. For practical reasons. The kid(s)are heir(s) to the throne and "need" to be educated and watched as such. Besides the children are a formidable blackmail instrument and weapon in a divorce as well. In Albert's case: can you imagine Tamara's or Nicole's crazy stunts if they had had their paws on the heir to Monaco's throne? They were bad enough as it was.
I just assumed that custody of the kids was number one in those infamous pre-nups that tabloids are always talking about. I take them with a grain of salt (the tabloid version that is) but I do believe that royal houses have lawyers that would very firmly lay down the law before any wedding. And that that law would include the royals' only reason for existance: the succession.

‘Erwan Grimaud, Fontvieille Monaco resident, was found in his smart electric, water halfway up the doors of his car. His photographs paint a picture of the most affected area by the rain at Monaco.’ It's still not a negligible amount of water. My guess is that there too it wasn't a light drizzle. Makes me happy I wasn't there for my holidays. I'd probably be one of those stuck in that stranded train. I read btw that some members of the Cannes or Nice fire brigade had to be saved themselves. They started out to help but ended up stuck and needing help themselves, presumably to become unstuck. Which would be funny if the situation wasn't so serious. Just read that they found an 18th victim in Mandelieu. Still some people missing too, so that number might rise in the coming days. link for updates: www.nicematin.com/derniere-minute/intemperies-en-direct-le-bilan-provisoire-salourdit-la-mobilisation-samplifie.2358106.html

I was sorry to hear it tonight. Any news about how Monaco fared? I do not seem to get more than the same message over and over. Did it pass Monaco on the west?

LOL, is that even possible, overcharging for art? Or overcharging in general? If it is fraude, then every shop can close its doors and every worker can retire. IMO, the two deserve each other. And on a Monaco topic, it's sad that Rybolovlev doesn't speak a word of French. He's been around MC for a few years now. Though oddly mirrored in barbie. They should meet up and not speak French together. The warm radiation of meeting a like minded entity and the mutual understanding with regard to the difficulties of annoying minor foreign languages should be enough to keep the whole country warm for the coming winter.

i changed the introduction on this posting. I looked into it and the address IS IN MONACO. 47 Avenue de l'Annonciade, 98000. I can see on the map that is is in Monaco not France. i guess the French government decided to pursue the graft so the trial is in France. This is about the Odeon Tower, I presume? That is in MC. Still ugly though. I can't believe that trial is taking soooo long. That mayor was arrested/questioned/whatever such a long time ago. Wowzers, way back in 2009! or at least that's what google tells me.... I think the trial is held in France because the bribing took place in France or at least they bribed French peeps. But possibly in MC and/or by MC of course, who knows. But MC is not going to complain or sue because they wanted that tower (so much so that they allegedly bribed some people. Like the mayor of Beausoleil, allegedly.). Unlike the Beausoleilians, who didn't want it but whose right to protest, to complain and to have the project stopped, got swept under the carpet. Imagine living behind that tower in eternal shade and bad views... BTW, am I reading it correctly that Spinelli remained mayor of Beausoleil (formerly Upper-Monaco ) and even got re-elected last year? Politics seem to be the same everywhere.

www.bunte.de/monaco/jacques-gabriella-von-monaco-sie-haben-jetzt-schon-einen-eigenen-luxus-hofstaat-143691.htmlBunte says that the twins already live the high life... They already have two bodyguards, a chauffeur, a chef (their vegetables are organic from Roc Agel), two nannies and a night nurse. They wear specially tailored costumes (e.g. at the picnic) made of high quality and contaminant-free fabric. CC renovated the nursery and used contaminant-free materials and a special coloring (Let me guess: pink=girl, blue=boy ). They say there are hand-knitted cushions with "Jacques Honoré Rainier" written in blue and little golden crowns on them (Let me guess: the girls name is written in pink ). So much to CC being a hands-on mum... LMAO Do you think the organic vegetables from Roc Agel are manured with elephant dung? I'm surprised that with all the dachas, tennis courts, garden sheds and elephant accomodation, there's any room left to grow vegetables, organic or otherwise. And the bit about the SA swim instructor, hilarious. BTW, who hand-knitted those hand-knitted cushions? I don't see either Albert or barbie sitting by the fire with their needlework. Did Albert pull a House and hired a hooker to do some extracurriculair activities? Or did they ask someone from the Monegasque knitting circle to do it for them? I can buy hand-knitted something-or-others in shops here. Hand-knitted is only remarkable if the one that did the knitting was you. Otherwise it's development aid.

Still judging trashy for not going to Pierre's wedding. Who says she was invited? I sometimes have the feeling there's a Grimaldi understanding about barbie within the family: Don't mind her, she'll be gone in a few years. I find it hard to say with regard to royals in general because they have all the warmth and sincerity of an airline stewardess but I never got the impression that any of the Grimaldis were over the moon because barbie joined their family. All those odd things (like not attending Pierre's wedding) add up.
