Obviously, they think the people are really stupid - and to me how the people in Monaco just "quietly" accepted everything about this wedding - I agree that they are stupid. as long as they keep bending over and bowing to the palace, Albert and the governmental spin about this wedding financial impact, they deserve to be screwed. If people in the middle east can voice their concern over their corrupted government, the people in Monaco deserve whatever happens to them and their country if they continue to quietly accept the crap being dished out to them.

Seriously, I am convinced that Monaco is being run by a bunch of idiots. As the country is struggling financially and facing serious competition from other luxurious vacation spots, Monaco largest news magazine runs a story about the legal prostitution in Monaco. I didn't know that prostitution is legal in Monaco! The police chief and other officials are interviewed about the prostitutes in Monaco. The police chief wants us to belie that there are only 50 prostitutes in Monaco. What's really funny is that this story come out as Albert marries Charlene who lived four years completely off of Albert in Monaco as she offered her services to him. Check out the article, it is written because they opposed penalizing customers as France is thinking about doing. Hard to penalize customers in Monaco when your sovereign Prince visits prostitutes. Prostitution : Pas de sanction pour les clients (Google translation: Prostitution: No penalty for customers)

someone once said to me that Monaco is the worlds largest brothel..let's be honest, that's what men come to Monaco for. why do you think Strauss kahn turned out the way he did....Monaco has taught men for decades to disrespect women and women allowed men to treat them that way.

Agree with you. I just found out that a Finnish proverb says: The man is a master in the house, although under the seat. ;D

While I don't agree with his choice of wife, I do think he couldn't have picked a better one: she embodies practically every prejudice that exists about Monaco. From drugs (allegedly), plastic surgery, sugar daddy seeking golddigger, bottle blonde, expensive clothes, not working, all day me, me, me attitude and probably tax evasion too (do you think she payed taxes all those years living "in Monaco"? Living in France for more than six months a year - so officially eligible to pay taxes there.) All we need is a gambling problem. Shady business can be included too, because now I'm writing this, I suspect her living/residential permit isn't above board either seeing that she spends her time in Roc Agel and definitely not in Monaco.
odd though that that was the image Albert wanted so desperately to get rid off.

Breaking news from Monaco Matin: SBM has had another bad year - this one the worst (details to be published tomorrow). But yet, we keep hearing about all the lavish details of Albert's big party (wedding). This wedding will ultimately be Albert's downfall because he sold the wedding as an answer to Monaco's economic problem.
Bad year for the SBM Thursday, June 9, 201 at 17:00
The Society of sea bathing was released June 8 counts of its financial year 2010/2011 . Chairman of the Board, Jean-Luc Biamonti speaks of "very poor results with a lower turnover of 3%. It results in a sharp reduction in operating income." This indeed shows a decrease of 58%. These findings are related to the business of games down 14%. Although turnover hotel earns 10% is about games that SBM emerges the highest margin.

All I can say is: are we good sloothers or what? It explains why they chose to publish the hospital bit today to appease the bad news from tomorrow. Nice try, but people will immediately ask where they will get the money from. We know that Albert invested with Madoff and it would not surprise me if SBM did too. It was never revealed how much Albert really lost. This is all so extremely desperate that one get's the impression that Monaco is broke. Too bad that Alberts new government does not want to be part of EU, as they will soon need their help to save them. Rainier left Albert a country in a reasonably good state. There were no signs of financial or other major problems; there were a few scandals which showed some faults in the system, but also an aging monarch. A younger and healthier Rainier would have gotten things in order again. I am also sure that if Rainier would have been in good form for another 10 years, he would have made MC a member of EU and changed the political system. He was strong enough to change the constitution and make sure that the majority of his wealth did not stay private property of the monarch but became the property of the head of state and could not be sold easily. I think that was his way of showing his people the direction, without actually having to turn against his incompetent son. Albert managed to rule in less then a decade a healthy and protected economy to the verge of bankruptcy and mostly due to his lack of understanding people and their motives.
Weren't they hoping last year already, that the mere announcement of a wedding would boost business? It clearly looks like their flagship is called titanic...I am so glad that I will be far away when Monaco is sinking.

So, what is it going to take to remove Albert and his cronies from power? They are apparently going to shut down the casino during the wedding to avoid a strike (and lose money in the process) - this according to a poster on Eringer (yes I do believe this post because Albert and his people are stupid). How much more can Monaco take and how will they be able to remove him?

actually I had heard some weeks ago that they did not expect anyone to come and gamble during GP and wedding, which is why a number of employees had previewed to take vacation. I had posted this at the time. so it's not really news. Keeping it open when no one is coming would be a greater loss. they had that during the Tour. So no surprise there. probably one of the smarter moves they've made recently.

Someone have read the article concerning the modification of the hospital CHPG ? French article in Nice Matin www.nicematin.com/article/monaco/nouvel-hopital-365-lits-pres-du-chpg-actuelThey reduced the cost of the project and the number of the beds. This is not the first time that happens : change of strategy when the project is well advanced... In real estate in Monaco, in fact, this is unfortunately not the only problem of this kind especially regarding the lack of respect and disorganization (and I don't speak about the odeon tower...) : concerning the "Mediatheque" project some politicians found themselves informed of the program change only by the newspaper Nice-matin! The future hospital, some mammoth project dixit elected Monaco who had vainly tried to sound the alert in order to understand there would be a problem with the size of the budget, among other things related to the problem of french "sécurité sociale" ... you just need to read Nice-matin ... Not to mention the offshore extension in parentheses. How many real estate projects postponed, modified at the last moment, even canceled ... I can not imagine the money spent in vain ... but I see mostly a discredit and cause discontent of Monaco. All this gives the impression that there was not enough upstream teamwork, coordination and organization before the implementation of a project and that the prince does not stop at the guideline to follow. Basically it looks like he is suggestible, easily manipulated, he does not know what he wants. Give the impression that the prince does not respect the people who ultimately work for nothing on these projects and in the end it gives the impression of not respecting the Monegasque and those working with him and he said something and made the other. I know the prince's work is difficult and it is surrounded by sharks. I feel it is wrong surrounded and frankly ill-advised. I sometimes feel that some bad guys have fun sawing a foot of the throne on which he sits. Just read the history of the early reign of his father to realize that the Prince of Monaco must exercise a certain authority to enforce if he does not want to be displaced and manipulated by those who surround it, including, unfortunately, by his own family. Anecdote: I had created a graphic work (a cardboard sculpture) which remains only an idea, a "fist forward". I represented some bones of the hand like saw teeth. My teacher told me ok but you should increase this form to show that it is not here by chance but that there is a willingness on your part to move in that direction there. I create monstrous teeth which gave a fist most aggressive corresponded better to the subject and had a good note. For Monaco, it's the same thing: go one way, although study the case from every angle and keep the guideline. If not you go for a undecided ... Affirmation de soi - Assertiveness.

I can understand not gambling during the tour and the GP, but let's face it, unless you are part of the chosen elite invited to all the private parties, the only thing to do besides watch this silly wedding is to gamble. Heck if I were running the casino I would be putting odds on how long this marriage was going to last. Of course I am assuming that they actually sold out the hotels to all the tourists they said they are expecting which it looks like was a failure. I would have kept a part of the Casino open hoping that some of the high rollers invited to the wedding might have some fun gambling in some of the private rooms at the Casino where the stakes are high and the odds favor the house. For Monaco, it's the same thing: go one way, although study the case from every angle and keep the guideline. If not you go for a undecided ... Affirmation de soi - Assertiveness. Welcome Viviane, I like your Avatar. Sorry for another book everyone. Anyway, I'm actually glad Albert has the hospital back on the burner--I have always meant to ask about the hospital plans since I hadn't heard much about it after the initial unveiling. Although now that Albert has decided to marry Charlene, he is pretty much just wasting his time and money on anything he does now--Albert will never have much respect from anyone again, or anything he does, because nothing he does now will ever weigh over, or bigger than the kind of women Albert chose to have as his partner in life--the person he chose to equate himself with. Charlene (after so many years with Albert) seems to already have taken it's toll, and it she seems to have already had a major influence on Albert, since he seems to have lost his brain completely and the whole flagrant desperate peddling of their wedding sounds like something straight out of Charlene's playbook, and add the total absence of any humility. However, I think they are "all" just completely retarded, but Albert doesn't seem to go outside of these numbskulls...Charlene and his insane advisers or PR people's opinions who obviously live in their own alternative universe . I just cannot say it enough, about how much I am embarrassed for these people and how they have conducted themselves (not just the wedding, but the whole flaunting and publicizing of the relationship from the very beginning--so horribly cheap and tacky), and Albert doesn't seem to have the good sense to know better...maybe he never did? (sorry for the sidetracks, but it's relevant ) Anyway, maybe the project was a little too ambitious, considering the direction the economy went, but I really think this is the perfect example of something good for Albert to work with and for.... if he only had the better sense to marry an intelligent women that had something going on upstairs, and that could/would have a lot to offer and be someone he could depend and rely on to help him out, instead of some daft gold-digger that cares about no one but herself and Grace's tiara's and jewels , who he will spend most of his time apologizing for. And it shouldn't be news for them, that no one will ever respect or support Charlene in anything. If Albert had seriously thought about what he might be able to accomplish if he had just chosen to marry a different kind of woman...like someone that people could actually have some respect for, or that "anyone" could ever believe had half a brain in her head, who could take some initiative. I'm serious, I really don't think there can be anyone more limited than this girl, and now that makes Albert very limited. Again, if Albert had just married someone different (or even no one at all), but if he had (chosen differently) he could have picked someone that could have really made him part of a dynamic team, and he could have actually gained another person, another brain and another pair of hands to help him-- instead of just turning himself into some kind of dumb dilettante . OK, back to the hospital, I just think the fact that Albert is not beholden to any particular medical establishment or sector that he has to depend on or please (a certain group of people). I think there might be a little pharmaceutical light industry there? I don't know what type exactly, but probably not that much? I just think if I were Albert I would have looked to maybe trying to make Monaco a place for a top hospital and a destination for innovative treatments that other countries have a hard time doing because of so many factors they are up against, where there are too many people who all think they have to make a buck, and/or have too much political clout! I'd also add special focus on hard to treat illnesses and cancers where people have little hope anywhere else, and where most doctors and hospitals would rather see people die than to offer or "add" alternative and holistic protocols. I think in Monaco there is a focus on heart disease, maybe Albert could look at the same kind of protocols that everyone is going to Thailand for now (pricy but effective). Monaco might seem like a more desirable place to go for people who can afford these treatments, and there are a lot of wealthy residents and older residents there, also there are some very wealthy individuals that are looking to do good things with all their money they've amassed and I know there are some that are supporting individual studies and organizations outside the main stream medical establishment. In fact one guy that comes to mind is very big in gaming...I can't think of his name at the moment, but I'm sure Albert knows him or of him...I think a lot of business in Macao now? Sorry his name escapes me, but he is a good example of the type of people he could involve. I don't know what kind of relationship Chirac and the Grimaldi's have or had, but I had always admired the money that Chirac invested in cancer research, maybe he could throw some support Albert's way. I really think Monaco should or could have had one of the very best and most innovative hospitals in the world if Albert had some imagination or at least married someone who did. I think Albert could have tried to attract some very good people to help him. I think..."I know" Albert would have at least been much better off if he had thrown his money at an ambitious innovative hospital project, instead of the ambitious cheap tacky arm piece and this ridiculous black hole event that he will be paying for (and with) the rest of his life....and that Monaco might not ever recover from . Viviana, yes, it is too hard to believe that there are not efforts being made to completely sabotage Albert...there is just no other explanation . I guess a strong wife with a brain might be too much of a threat fo someone, since Albert (as we've seen) is so easy to manipulate. Charlene will never be the kind of threat to anyone there in the way that a smart woman who really cared about Albert would, and who could have put some backbone in Albert, but Charlene is a ticking time bomb for everyone in every other way . In the end if Albert had more imagination and ambition, even if the hospital was a pricey endeavor, no matter how it turned out, it would be considered a worthwhile effort and Albert would at least get some credit for trying to do something innovative and good. I know he would have garnered a lot more respect than he is nowl....marrying some repulsive scheming moronic gold-diger, who couldn't find her way out of a wet paper bag if her life depended on it . Unfortunately, Albert seemed to have turned out to have the same limited imagination and level of laziness as Charlene, at least when it came to his choice of wife which effects forever everything he does now or better put...will never do! I didn't mean to turn that into such a rant again , but the two issues go hand in hand. And if Albert's people think that Albert is such a dud that he needs "propping UP" by trying to place him with someone who is a much bigger dud, it only makes the situation doubly dud! These people assume the rest of the world is as shallow as they are in there own little alternative world that they obviously don't realize they are alone in. I just want to say one more thing. I am sure that Rainier nor Albert ever wanted to be part of the EU--this would make absolutely no sense for Monaco, especially with Monaco's no tax policy and banking business, which has "always" been a large part of the Grimaldi family business forever throughout their history. Ranier even commented once that "he" never had to contend with what Albert was going to have to, regarding the EU--he always knew they would try to put the squeeze on Monaco. The EU is a thorn in Monaco's side, hence the trouble and pressure Albert was getting from them, and not just Monaco has this problem, but all the small states still surviving independently that survives on the same kind of banking structure. Monaco wants to retain autonomy.

I believed that Monaco had scaled back the new hospital plan for legitimate reasons - mainly the forecast of future patients and payments were dimmer because of France's changes in repayment mount policy for French citizens seeking care in Monaco. The reason was published in the local papers.

LOL Here I thought the guests and the gatecrashers were all the same! I haven't been to Monaco in about 20 years. The last I saw of it, the interior part of the casino was in need of renovation, and I was greatly disappointed. I do not gamble and only went in to see the architecture. I did observe some very young Italian boys looking over some very blonde, tight skirted "ladies" on the arm much older men. The boys were quite amused if I recall. So in that regard, I guess Monaco is still the same.
