Franck Biancheri retired per the first of May. Should make someone happy... Any news on who's replacing him?

It seems that the Current Marc Quinn exhibit in the Oceanographic museum doesn't really convince visitors. They did not do this kind of article when Hirst was there and during the wedding exhibit they only quoted positive feedback, for obvious reasons. Now they pretty much let their readers know that the exhibit does not have the effect which the organizers claim it has. Visitors point out mostly the setting of the museum and the museum itself. IMO they all would have visited regardless of the exhibit. MC is wasting a lot of money on so called artists. They would invest more wisely, if they had more museum related exhibits and an overhaul by some museum experts. there are plenty of things they can do to attract people. My kids are currently spending heaps of time in the local Natural History museum. The museum and the youth art academy are working with the kids on a 3D picture book and a movie from children for children. They are being supervised by professional illustrators and storytellers. Once they are finished it will be exposed in public during a special event. It's these kind of activities that get people interested. www.monacomatin.mc/monaco/musee-oceanographique-de-monaco-marc-quinn-etrange-et-fascinant.872499.html

Another slap in the face for the green prince. They are having an article about MC tuna initiative. The one that failed. They are writing that MC will continue to ask peopleto not buy or sell red tuna, but explicitly pointing out at this time the failure to get a protection for red tuna is only throwing it into the readersface that the green prince does not even achieve his green ideas. That no one follows him in anything. IMO all this negative news these days is meant to put pressure on Assbert. www.monacomatin.mc/derniere-minute/peche-au-thon-rouge-monaco-ne-renonce-pas-au-boycott.872391.html

As long as there is no freedom of speech in Monaco, Albert will never be challenged on any of his decisions and Monaco's quality of life will steadily decline. Albert long dumped substance for shallowness. Who cares if you are influential or effective as long as you are photographed and quoted.

true, still I find it interesting that he is being torpedoed with criticism on all sort of topics. Considering the situation in MC and the ability to express criticism, I find this very interesting. It reflects a mood in MC and a general discontentment. Just like the Deslandes interview, which, read as normal interview to those who do not know the context. But in MC people read it as criticism resulting in him having to redo the interview...or maybe the press office handed them one afterwards to print...

...it really doesn't matter what intelligent people like you (MyAdia and Paca) think, it is important that Albert looked slimmer on the recent pictures and Charlene's mantilla sure looked lovely with the suit she wore the other day. ;D ;D ;D

Dear Albert has by souvereign decree called for a special meeting of the national council as early as the end of september (this year).
The only topic will be (You gotta love google...) Bad news, I think. Either a raise of the retirement age or a cut in the pensions?

Thanks. "Sans tarder", mmm, that means September, nearly October does it? No wonder it took him so long to get married.... Couldn't find the article from the 12th that they refered to, I really wish that website was easier on my computer (as in not freezing or crashing the stupid thing). I still remember the times when the whole paper could be read online, at least then I vaguely knew what was going on.

lol yes I liked having the whole paper online too. You still can, but you need to pay for it. Considering that other papers are online for free.... anyways there is more about a new tunnel project and some ideas that are supposed to better things in MC. It is not that they do not have people with ideas, ideas that can be realized, there is just a lack of wanting them realized in other places. Personally I am getting the impression that assbert is currently listening to those who try to explain away the lack of money by environmental politics. It's a pretty old reflex they are exercising, but it is economically and ecologically wrong. Green politics don't necessarily need to be expensive, they just need to be smart. And if they are smart, then they can save heaps. www.monacomatin.mc/monaco/tunnel-descendant-a-monaco-une-solution-controversee.878198.html

Paca, I believe that you mentioned the same problem with the raising of the bus fares that the Monaco Hebdo has (I cannot find your comment in this thread, so you must have stated it in another thread). Of course Monaco Hebdo nor the National Council won't and cannot say Albert's name directly, but the raising of the prices really shows that Albert has no clue about the needs of his people - no clue whatsoever.
Bus: the new rates do not pass
By Adrian Paredes Thursday, May 24, 2012
The passage of the bus ticket 1 to 2 euros from 1 June sparked outcry from the elected National Council. The Union of Monaco "considers that this measure is inconsistent and inappropriate." "Many fellow residents or meet more and more difficult to cope with rising rental costs, the price of gasoline, food, public parking rates. Add Now that transit is a lack of understanding of the lives of our citizens, "said the UDM. Rally and Issues demand "an urgent meeting" with the government to discuss the pricing policy. The UP has expressed surprise over a statement denouncing the fact that the non-subscriber "will now spend two euros to the port, the Place du Casino when just one euro to cross the Alps-Maritimes ! ". "It is therefore surprising that rather than continue this policy effective, the government decided unilaterally and without consultation with the National Council to increase fees. An urban mobility policy only makes sense if it fits the long term and must therefore continue to offer quality service and incentive rates and stable, in line with the offerings of the neighboring region. "Says the UP.

yes, I did mention it on several occasions. He is completely out of touch with his people and MC matin reported this. What can you say worse about your head of state. ALso note that they say elected National council as opposed to Assbert and his lot.

The madoff case has now reached MC. The government is accused of not being vigilant enough. Now that is not new. They were accused of the same in the Hobbs Melville case and we know how that ended with regards to the government responsibility. Obviously this one will have the exact same outcome. It's taken a year to even reach the local media (guess they were asked to keep quiet about it till after the wedding to avoid it to be tainted. How could they have guessed that the bride would do that all by herself), now they will drag it out even further. But the outcome is already clear, so it is just a question how much more pressure this will put on Assbert and how much noise it will make in the media. Let's hope a lot. www.monacomatin.mc/derniere-minute/l%E2%80%99ombre-de-madoff-resurgit-a-monaco.885322.html

Maybe the Palace will eventually be on the chopping block and replaced with something to match all the other ugly buildings they are putting up!

LOL Maybe they will stock it up a few floors and turn it into the worlds biggest brothel. I think that would be really what fatbert is aiming for with MC. At least he would be attracting the King of Sweden, the King of Spain and Belgium....Finally they'd get Royalty to flock to MC. And Mom Wittstock could finally be the true brothel mom that she is. There might even be a job for dad in there: he could be the bouner...
