BY PETER MIKEBANK AND STEPHEN M. SILVERMAN Thursday July 21, 2011 The honeymoon is over – at least for the press. During the royal audience, which was mostly conducted in French, Princess Charlene was asked whether she had anything to add.
"No," she replied in English. "I think that says it all."[/blockquote]
Meaning what? That she will not talk to the press? That she is not allowed to talk to the press? Silence is gold? She has lots to say but, is afraid for her life/crown/family/tiaras/reputation will be taken away? That she and Albert are one mind and what he says fully expresses her own thoughts? That she is so in love that she is speechless? Please Charlene, say something!!! Maybe even she realized what an idiotic interview it was and preferred to remain silent... This is how the interview/attack was perceived in the StarAfrica.com article: Monaco's Prince Albert slams marriage 'rumours'
Prince Albert II of Monaco has summoned journalists to castigate them for publishing "rumours"... www.starafrica.com/en/news/detail-news/view/monacos-prince-albert-slams-marriage-r-179208.htmlCastigate quite a strong word, meaning reprimand someone severely. Ha. Ha. Ha. The sheer gall! Offense is the best defense? Not when you are defending yourself against the press... P.S. Isn't it great that they are back? It was so quiet for a while, they more than made up for it though

Please... this whole "interview" is nicely coinciding with the Murdoch/News of the World scandal hearings. Perfect timing for PA to lament on how the press is so mean and unethical... I can see through this one as plain as day. But it's not gonna work... Media didn't make up that wedding video of her looking like someone who just found out they have a terminal illness with only 3 months to live. Nor did anyone make up the video of him looking so annoyed at her instead of comforting her... Also, the illegitimate kids? Oh, did the media make them up too??
Again, please... He's just mad that people are looking just as he wanted them to, but they are seeing more than he wanted them to see... Can't have it both ways, Albie...

If Albert and WC were able to smile/laugh at the rumors before, they should be able to do the same now. Right? No, because this time "rumors" are way too personal and true. If those rumors were not true they should have been able to go true their "lovely" wedding day and "honeymoon" without trauma. If those "rumors' were not true (or even if there was no suspicion that they might be true) WC's demeanor weeks before "the happiest day of her life" wouldn't have changed drastically. If there were no truth in those "rumors" she wouldn't had been lifeless and vacant at her own wedding day, nor would she be kissing her new husband with a discuss on her face. If there were no truth in those "rumors" Albert wouldn't sweat like a pig and look so annoyed at his on wedding day (the day that he has been waiting for all his life ;D). If there were no truth in those "rumors" WC wouldn't had released a "sob of sorrow" at the most exciting and happiest moment of her life. If those "rumors" were not true Albert wouldn't had been giving his "darling new wife" those mean and angry looks. If there were no truth in those horrible "rumors" WC and Albert would have been able to go trough their wedding day with a true happiness on their faces and loving exchanges, the atmosphere of the wedding would have been happy and relaxed one and their guests would have been enjoying themselves instead of dreading for hours that any minute an "elephant will fall on their heads out of the sky". The reason why all of that had happened and is still happening is that there is the truth behind all those rumors. If WC was marring Albert for love and not for the money, fame and title AND if Albert was marring WC for love instead for a PR reasons and to boost Monaco's economy non of this would had happened. You can't buy love and you can't fake one (at least not for too long). I think Albert should finally do some soul searching and shut up. He should let his young wife to do some back paddling for him now (she has been payed well so far)...after all, isn't the back stroking one of the WC specialties?

Is Albert implying Caroline is out to get him? What is he implying by people in "monaco". I wonder how that will go over among "his people?"

Me think he doth protest too much! Some should advise The Cad that actions speak louder than words -- there has yet to be an authentic and genuine action between these two people in all these years. Very sad

It's worse than that. They have called them criminals and threatened lawsuits. L'Express stands behind it's story. If they go to court, Albert will loose. The press is turning on them fast. It may be a competitive business but any idiot in the public eye knows that when you threaten one member of the press they will stick together and you are done for. I just wonder how the citizens of Monaco are going to get rid of this ridiculous couple. I wonder where Caroline is spending her time. Smartly out of site. I wonder if Stephanie will show up at the ball next week? I bet not. Yes, and it's getting worse for Albert - but good for us truth seekers. According to this article in Monaco's Riviera Times, Thierry Lacoste stated in an interview this morning that he is suing L'Express. I think Albert and Lacoste believe that they have paid people off so they won't talk - WRONG! The truth will come out in this lawsuit. Bring it ON! Or, is Lacoste bluffing - AGAIN?
Post-honeymoon, Prince Albert II finally speaks out against the “unbearable” media reports
A prince indignant 21 July 2011
On landing back in his kingdom after a lengthy African honeymoon with his new wife, it took Prince Albert II just 12 hours to speak out against the rumours that have been swirling around himself and Princess Charlene since their wedding. The recently married couple returned to the Principality from Mozambique at around 6am yesterday morning. The same day, at 6pm, the prince called members of the Monegasque press for a briefing with himself and his wife that would allow them to respond personally to the international scandal that has refused to go away.
They have not even been married for a month yet, but speculation already abounds about almost every detail of the couple‘s private life. In his statement yesterday, the prince expressed his own, and his wife’s, personal distress at the constant negative gossip surrounding his relationship: “We are honestly feeling aggrieved by the current rumours. It is simply not acceptable anymore.”
The rumour mill began grinding on June 28th, just days before their lavish wedding was due to take place. The French paper L’Express published an online article in which Charlene Wittstock was reported to have tried to escape her impending marriage. It was said that the South African had been attempting to return to her native country but had been stopped by the police at the airport in Nice and sent back to Monaco. L’Express went on to insinuate that the princess-to-be had tried to flee after hearing that her fiancé had fathered a third illegitimate child.
According to Thierry Lacoste, the prince’s lawyer and close friend who is interviewed in today’s Monaco Matin, legal proceedings against L’Express will soon get underway in Paris or Nanterre.
After the L’Express piece was published, the international press went wild, claiming the couple was in crisis and portraying their relationship as a sham. From the bride’s tears in the church to the news that the honeymooning husband and wife were sleeping in different hotels in South Africa, nothing they did went unnoticed, and uncommented on, by the scandal-hungry media.
The Swiss newspaper Blick asked, ‘Is it love?’. The Sunday Times drew a portrait of ‘The full filthy Monte’. The South African paper, City Press, focused on the strange honeymoon which entailed separate cars, separate rooms in different hotels and a kiss on the cheek. On July 13th Le Figaro ran the story, ‘The strange honeymoon of Charlène and Albert of Monaco’.
But now, Albert says enough is enough. The media have gone too far. “We want to express our outrage at the rumours,” he said with force yesterday before adding, “it's unbearable.” Although he said that he and Princess Charlene had been able to laugh at some of the stories, such as the one about their separate hotels (which was of course for "practical reasons") they have been clearly disturbed and distressed by the way the media has handled them. “What is regrettable is that the media seized on these rumours without verifying the information. I find it unworthy of your colleagues,” he told the Monegasque journalists gathered. “I have always respected the freedom of press but spreading false information is both lamentable and subject to criminal charges.”
At the end of the short, twelve-minute briefing, Prince Albert II stated flatly, “I won’t reply to any questions.” He then turned and, putting a gentle hand on her knee, asked his wife if she had anything to add. "No," she replied, "I think that says it all." Andwith that last word, they are clearly hoping to put an end to the sorry affair.

Whoever told Dumb and Dumber that they should do this interview - needs to be run out of Monaco - including themselves if they came up with this bright idea. As expected, the Monaco flunkies are sucking up to them - as the below comments from the Riviera Times article that I posted above., But, some bloggers are having a field day with him. I've only cooped a few, but miost people are laughing their assess off at him - may think he is having a temper tantrum and a hissy fit. Here are the Riviera Times comments that Dumb and Dumber thought everytone was going to feel.
Comment by Igor Doubenko | 21.07.2011 It's now time to stop this media craziness. The journalists just have to leave Their Royal Highnesses alone and let them live their life.
With my best regards to HSH Albert and HSH Charlene? Sincerely, Igor Doubenko, Excutive Director, UNHREP--Global
Comment by Annalize Mouton | 21.07.2011 I agree. the press should stop all these rumours and i wish them both a happy, blessed and long, loving marriage.
Comment by Nesrin Savaş | 21.07.2011 Hi, It's very nasty things! Most of journalist doing these... Leave them alone! That's it!!! They love each other. I can easily see that... Princesse Charlene Grimaldi is like a diamond. She is pure, class, deeper and beautiful. Also the heart. Always her husband Albert II will take care of his amazing wife... Monaco people loves Charlene as well. And she is going to have lovely kids. I think; Albert and Charlene souldn't answer any stupid questions. That's their life. They are so nice. What happened to Diana? Who did it? Most of journalist and someones must think very well. If these things happens to your family, do you like it? So why are you so bad for others private? Happy life to Charlene & Albert...

Seriously, Albert is so spoiled and lives in such a bubble, he really truly believes that he can push around the entire world's media as he does the media in Monaco. In Monaco, something is true only if Albert says it is true, thus everyone is supposed to take his word as gold and SHUT THE F*CK up! Here's a blog - called Crazy and Days and Nights - from an entertainment attorney that I think probably sums a lot of sentiment about Albert's rant (those who care enough to even pay attention to him).
Prince Albert Wants To Throw Reporters In Jail
THURSDAY, JULY 21, 2011 All I have to say is that I am glad that Prince Albert is the toothless leader of a principality because if you set this guy loose anywhere else, you would have a dictator of epic proportions. Yesterday he summoned the three reporters to the palace in Monaco. Not normal everyday reporters but bigger lapdogs than someone who has worked at Kneepads for 30 years. I mean these reporters made Larry King look like he worked for 60 Minutes.
Anyway, he summoned them all because he is tired of all the rumors about how his wife tried to run away before their wedding. Actually that is a fact, but he does not like facts. He also said the same thing about why they stayed separately on their honeymoon. Uh huh. Keep talking. The press that covered the story kept talking about how the Prince was "visibly wounded," or "hurt" about the comments. What really really got me though was this threat he delivered, "What is regrettable is that the media seized on these rumors without verifying their information," complained Albert, as his bride sat beside him, holding his hand. "I find it unworthy of your colleagues. I have always respected the freedom of expression. But the dissemination of false information is lamentable and subject to criminal penalties."
So, he is saying that because he says it is untrue that makes it untrue and if you report it you face going to jail in his country? Can you imagine if this guy had real power? Do you know how many women he would have already got pregnant if this were say 200 years ago? I used to think the guy was some harmless guy who liked to f**k tourists who came to Monaco. Now, I think he has got some serious power trip issues going on and I am scared for Charlene and she needs to run run run.

^ Again, Charlene is portrayed as the victim and Albert is the horrible ogre who rapes a woman every hour. Albert is truly an idiot to have allowed himself to be hitched to a woman who is completely okay with him being portrayed as her abuser. She loves to be the victim.
They need to shut up about all this and refuse any questions on the wedding or honeymoon and get on with whatever game plan they had for after the wedding. Saying that the reports bother you is like putting blood in the water for the sharks. You are asking them to pile it on. Albert is showing that he has very thin skin. He says that his FAMILY has had to listen to attacks for years, but it seems clear that this is the first time that the bullets are aimed at Albert, and he can't handle it. Poor little boy! Maybe if you didn't try to scam everyone, you wouldn't get into so many problems.
Also, I wonder if Albert is mad because he didn't plan to spend much time with Charlene after the wedding, thinking that the wedding would solve all his problems, and now that everyone thinks the wedding is a sham, he is going to have to spend tons of time with Charlene trying to convince everyone that the wedding was one of true love.
Caroline, we are waiting for you at stage right. These two actors are getting booed off the stage.

They should have stayed in Africa and joined the peace corps to actively help to feed the starving people. Return after a year with a love child and everything would have been hunky dory. And both of them would have gained real life experience and some respect. IMO this is the moment when Albert, if he really cares about Monegasque people and if he really loves his wife, should release a statement saying that because he wants to protect his people and his young wife he had decided to step down and give the tron to P. Caroline and her children (who by the way are the righteous heirs since Ranier changed constitution that the heir should be " any first born in a legitimate catholic marriage"- which means Caroline in this case, right?))...and that he and his young wife are moving to their beloved Africa to live rest of their lives away from media and fame and without titles and protocol. Since WC didn't marry Albert for money, fame and title she will be more then happy to spend the rest of her life incognito with her elderly husband "showering him with her love" (the way she said it in her posts )

I have not posted the comments of the article that I have posted. Because they are clearly pro nicole - pro charlene. However, there were many individual which speak otherwise...
My opinion is that one of the witnesses of L'Express is a baby mother. Why else would Albert be so frustrated and angry…

oh i'm sure he is, no way will he be mature enough to take responsibility for any of this. i hope he's making trashlene pay every minute for his failures because after all SHE was supposed to save moronaco.
i wonder if they aren't more miserable because they have to try and play this farce to the media. he's so stupid he probably didn't think past the wedding, he wanted her to go away and only bother him when he called, now they have to spend more time together.....i hope they wallow in their misery.
