According to Cindy Adams with the New York post, painter Ralph Wolfe Cowan is already commissioned and on his way to Monaco to paint its new Princess Conlene. I am surprised it took her this long to get started on her paining to grace the palace walls. I am serious when I say this, Charlene is one con artist who I actually championed to con her sucker for everything he has - and leave a path of destruction in the process. Within the year. Albert deserves Charlene and the mark that she will leave on Monaco. How can any one not see this woman or the biggest narcissistic gold digger she is. The mention about Charlene's portrait in in this NY Post article with the below title.
Markowitzes two peas in a pod
By CINDY ADAMS August 1, 2011
... Another recent crown-to-crown European wedding was French- speaking Monaco's Serene Highness Prince Albert to non-French- speaking South African blonde Charlene Wittstock. The brand-new Serene Highnessette is not dragging her tiara. Already commissioned is Ralph Wolfe Cowan, whose paintbrush has immortalized Imelda Marcos of the Philippines, Johnny Mathis in that white suit and Al's mother, Princess Grace Kelly.
Because Grace in full regalia was the favorite portrait of Al's daddy the late Rainier and still dominates a royal Palace wall, equerries were dispatched to do up the new Mrs. Albert. Full-length. To hang in the Palace. Mr. Cowan is packing his bags and easel as we speak. ...

I have to say that I think his pics are incredibly kitsch, especially the familly pic of the Grimaldis. ralphcowan.weebly.com/index.html"We will soon be painting H.S.H. Princess Charlene, Prince Albert's soon to be wife. Congratulations to Charlene and Albert." I do not like his paintings at all. They look too cartoonish - which is perfect for Charlene. So even before she was Princess Conlene - she had already commissiond him. It's amazing after six years how little the media realy knows the real Charlene. While I do want L'Express to prevail over Albert's lawsuit; they are so wrong when they concluded that Charlene did not want to go through with the wedding. L'Express needs to just stick to what they know from their sources - Charlene bought a one-way ticket to South Africa, she was detained and then talked out of leaving. This narcissistic gold digger was NEVER EVER not going to give up the fame, title, tiaras and of course all the flunkies sucking up to her.

she wants him to do her, because he did the one of Grace. She wants him to state how much she looks like Grace. It's her final stamp of approval, her third tiara

I wonder if she'll try to have Grace's photo moved to a different area and place her own in its place...

I wonder if she'll try to have Grace's photo moved to a different area and place her own in its place... Or hang her portait besides her, so everyone can say "oh, look! Like twins " ;D

I suppose people pick him because he flatters them. the young Grace suited the time and the way she was seen: sth like a Disney princess. So it is not as kitsch as the others. He certainly is no Lucien Freud. But then none of the Grimaldis would have ever chosen him to paint their portrait. And why would they suddenly discover taste or quality, when they can get flatterers to do the bit.

To borrow from the Countess, we go from RETCH to RETCH with this duo.
To say again, Albert and Charlene, stop glomming off of others. Do your own original thing! Let Rainier and Grace rest in peace.

They will probably hide Grace's one because Cowan will paint Charlene just to look like Grace. Trash all around...

I think the portrait should be a Tryptich (I may have misspelled this word ... but most of you will know what I mean) ... Part 1: what she originally looked like; Part 2: what she looked like after her initial round of plastic surgery; Part 3: what she looks like today.
Of course, it may turn into a four-parter should she have any additional surgeries.
Just sayin'!

I vote for the one of her alone too - the other one is plain fantasy.
Yes pass the bucket I see another ad nauseum attack on this one!
They have no imagination to do something different.
Wonder if she has gone off to have some more surgery to prepare...

He did paint the Queen. No one liked it. I am not surprised that Albert went with the same artist that painted Grace. Gee that was a no Brain-er. Pretty soon Grace's portrait will find it's way to the basement. I'm waiting for that one.

That is nauseating--I guess Albert can't wait five minutes to see how things pan out for him before he piles it on--he is so eager to do one more very stupid thing. And does he not have one original thought in his head. Who wants a picture of the imposter hanging on the palace walls. The fake marriage wasn't bad enough. Never have a had such a bad taste in my mouth for a place, and especially for a place that I use to care about. The whole things really disgusts me.

sandsla, remember back on the blue forum how we had hope for albert? sheesh! I know he had a lot of people rooting for him then, that honestly wanted to help and were sincerely interested in seeing him succeed Albert preferred to throw in with those that were only looking after their own self interest, even if it meant Abert's suffering and demise--it's really sad and curious why someone would choose to do this to themselves. I was looking at that video of the outdoor screens during the civil wedding and I noticed how tight the shot was--there must not have been too many people there to not show a full crowd. But why would he expect there to be? He knew how everyone felt about Charlene, and their weird played out in public relationship. It's really too bad because another woman might have been able to make a better stronger man of him, instead being around Charlene all these years has rub off on him and now he has let himself turn into someone that is no better than her. Sad State!

I suppose that's why Rainier was so opposed to the women Albert dragged home. They were all the likes of trashy and her lot and he never would have allowed any of them in the palace unless as paying tourists. Rainier knew who his son was. That's why he wanted him to have a different kind of woman by his side. He should have just acknowledge when Albert was 40 that his son was unfit for the job and changed the constitution either to become a constitutional monarchy or put it on the road for Europe. I believe the decisions of his last years were pointing towards Europe rather then a constitutional monarchy. There were heaps of European officials coming along at the time And I think when he changed the constitution and also made the change for the property of the palace etc, he was realizing that the best for his country would be becoming a full member of the EU even if that meant to give up rights of the prince. I think it was clear to him that Caro did not want the job either for her or her kids. ANd I think that as much as he loved his grandkids, I don't think he saw any of them doing the job either. IMO at the end of his life, when he was getting his house ready he acknowledged his mistake with Albert and did his best to prevent the worst. Had he lived a few years longer, I think he would have gotten Monaco ready for democracy. Even if it was against his own understanding of his role. But unlike Albert, Rainier always thought of his country, his people and what was good for them. He took his responsibilities seriously and he saw that his son did not. ALbert behaved better with Rainier still around. That's why rainier and others had hopes for him. But I think deep down Rainier knew that Albert would ruin everything.
