Instanbul hosts the world chess olympiad from 27 august 'til 10 september (yeah, I know... it's nearly over). Monaco participates with a men's and a ladies' team. Home page here: www.chessolympiadistanbul.com/ for videos, results, reviews, photos and live video and game reports. And I realised I have so far not mentioned Daniel Elena, co-driver/navigator for rally driver Sébastien Loeb (France) who together have won the world rally championships eight times so far. And they won the Monte Carlo rally six times. They were mentioned at some point (possibly as long back as on one of the late forums) in connection with Albert, but, well, it's the sport section and at least a mention here is in order. I admit to total negligence and found a smiley specially for them: ASM meanwhile lost first place to Dijon who is also their next opponent at home (Friday 14th of September). The winner takes (or keeps) first place.

I think Monaco breathes easier when the family drama (queens) exit stage left for the summer. They should just shut the door and only let in the young royals so they can revolutionize society. It's a thought.

With regard to the soccer: ASM has just been kicked of first place by FC Nantes and are now second.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think that the pétanque team came third in their group and are not in the running for the Eurocup anymore. Maybe talking about them (too much) jinxes them?
Talking about sport, does anyone know what country Charlotte rides for and how good/bad she is? Bunte seems to have a whole dribbling and drooling article about succesful she is as producer (her boyfriends movies?) and entrepreneur and that seems to leave little time left for horse riding.

Thanks for the info, but I can't help but feel all those raving reviews have more to do with looks, clothes, family and sponsor than with her actual performance, just as with barbie, Kate and other royals and celebs. The Sept. 2012 Hello article mentions her competing in the amateur part of the competition.
I once tried to find out her ranking and results on the international horsy federation web site thingy, but didn't manage to find her.

I think currently the Wittstocks are guilty of trying to parlay into that class by pretending to be horse people, which we know they're not so maybe the German media is only trying to remind everyone that it's Charlotte's territory, not phone salesmen's. If Charlotte is good enough to take part along with Athina Onassis, I'm sold.

Whatever you please. For the record, the FEI (international equestrian federation) website doesn't mention her in their rankings. According to Wiki, she rides in something called Global Champions Tour. On their web site, she is not mentioned in the 2012 ranking. Nor in the 2011 or 2010 ranking either. I did find her participating in at least one tournament in 2012 and didn't bother to go through all the other events of this year to find out more. Wiki mentions other horses than the ones she rode in the aforementioned event. She does ride for Monaco, but that might be a tactical decision (no or little competition and support and funding from unca Bebert/MC state). End of horsy report.

A footnote: whatever Charlotte's involvement, unlike CC's it's been more than just horsesh*t!

well, this is not a sportive achievement, but relates to ASM. They are turning Russian even more now. I suppose someone is getting worried about what is left of his money or trying to gt his hands on whatever money ASM has left. Don't forget that he just lost big time in Cyprus.... waiting for MC waking up to another bad surprise and realisation that ALbert is a twat and has no idea what he is doing. www.monacomatin.mc/monaco/deux-nouveaux-cadres-dirigeants-a-las-monaco.1189361.html

ROFL looks like things are getting worse for ASM now. AS of 2014 all clubs playing in French first and second league will have to have their headquarters located in France to guarantee equality. This means that ASM can be excluded from playing in the French league. Or they will have to move across the border and then be taxable in France, which also means that they have to open their books... www.parlonsfoot.com/archives/2013/03/26/monaco-menace-dexclusion/
