Kellyanne Conway is quitting the Trump administration after a threat of emancipation by her lovely daughter. For all Kellyanne's doosies, down the line I'd rather see the Conways as a political dynasty than the Trumps. Godspeed Conways. Good choice.

In light of yet again another US shooting (in the back! in front of his children) of Jacob Blake by white supremacist police, the basketball league has been on strike. This has attracted an unwarranted dig from Jared Kushner who basically said black players should be happy for their salaries and station in life. Meanwhile...this is what Kushner's classmate had to say about that:

Don't take it from me, about the manslaughter...Trump admitted on tape that he lied about Covid-19 incurring almost 200 000 unnecessary deaths. How many autocrats out there have a similar record of killing their own people?
It's all in a book.

While Trump agitates to replace the venerable Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the bench and Pompeo tries to usurp the United Nations' power after holding hostage the International Court of Justice, I find that the time is long overdue for a taste of their medicine.
Where are the sanctions against the Trump administration for most recently:
- organ trafficking in migrant detention centres - manslaughter of almost 200 000 Americans, after concealing vital information - disrupting international supply chains of emergency equipment - abuse of tariffs, affecting the world economy - government involvement in hostile takeovers of foreign companies under threat(s) - illegal use of extradition treaties and non-compliance (diplomat's wife who killed a UK child and ran) - interference in international aid based on political favours (Ukraine) - over quota sales of arms - contributing to humanitarian crises through supply of arms - proliferating nuclear weaponry - pay-for-play extorsion of foreign countries - violation of the Geneva Convention at its borders
Etc etc

I watched a presidential debate, for once. The winner is Hunter Biden, for that unwavering declaration of fatherly love. The next person of note is Chris Wallace, the moderator, for his fair and incisive questions. I only wish he'd had a microphone off switch. Ultimately, had Fred Trump Sr been a Joe Biden, Donald Trump would have been a better man and in an alternate universe where Biden and Trump collide as father to son, the result is symphonic, not cacophonic. To me, it's another example of intergalactic failure at bringing people together that misfired instead. If I'm right, Trump is not sure today why he's upset.

so they say Trump has tested positive for covid. Do we believe that or is this his get out of debate card? Note that I also do not believe Bolsonaro had it. He just decided to use is as a political tool and I believe that Trump is doing the same. Otherwise I don't see how his doctor can be so sure about his ability to govern. We have seen with Bojo how things can change, if you really have it.
Trump has done everything these past weeks to put blame of losing the election elsewhere. I think being a loser is his worst nightmare. Also the fact that he has given a get out of jailcard to his croonies, but has failed to secure one for himself. I do hope that, if democrats do win the election, they won't forget to put him in jail. They won't win his supporters anyways, so there is no need to handle him with gloves. Trump and his family are criminals and need to be treated as such.

I've been biting my tongue. Starting backwards, Trump stacked the Supreme Court with a rightwingbat to replace RBD who belongs to a sect, People of Praise(?). And with his thug friends to exert pressure on justices, he could sidestep comeuppance for a while as always. I tend to think the GOP gave him marching orders after signalling to white supremacists, one would hope. Saving face? In his mind maybe, but yes. I think they should watch flights from Florida to the Bahamas. so they say Trump has tested positive for covid. Do we believe that or is this his get out of debate card? Note that I also do not believe Bolsonaro had it. He just decided to use is as a political tool and I believe that Trump is doing the same. Another public debate tonight between American VPs. Newsflash: the Trump family will likely not repeat the maskless stunt of last time. Pence is sure to make this a snooze fest, which is actually welcome after the last debate. I take no pleasure in watching a person's humiliation so instead I'll check my texts by those watching. Trump will no doubt be tweeting, which I never read either.

it is so sad that once again the choice is between pest and cholera. But you have to hand it to Trump how quickly he replaced the debate debacle discussion with his covid news. He still is his best spin doctor. Not sure if ther will be another debate with him, but given the contradictive information by the white house, I still consider Trumps covid stunt a political tool rather then real covid. He saw how it worked with his buddy Bolsonaro. Sadly the media, after all this time has not figured out, how to handle Trump. Had the press not reported on every tweet, he wouldn't have been elected in the first place and if they would have ignored all of his tweets and stuck to regular political communication, he soon would have given up twitter. And those who had a problem with twitter handling him, should have just quit twitter for good and told them so. If twitter had been left with worldwide only Trump supporters, they would have reigned him in sooner. simply because they still want to do business. I guess.

Avoiding jail is Trump's only motivation now, just like avoiding financial ruin motivated his run for the presidency. It's a "chateau de cartes" on the verge of collapse, at this point. It's the same for the entire little group of them who run ramshod across borders, defraud, launder money, swap weapons, violate international law, hide behind public office, etc. The last 4 years have been intensive in decloaking these networks. Trump's taxes are out there, the FinCEN papers, the Epstein files, and the arrests are coming down - Ghislaine Maxwell & Clare Bronfman's sex ring conviction, aside from the dozen Trump associates' convictions and growing indictments. There's a new vigilance. And no amount of invasive technology or Internet manipulation is going to affect the masses in making up their minds. The only stunted reflex right now seems to be by the US chain of command's inability to remove their "commander in chief". If they were in the presence of a foreigner with the same track record, they'd be invading his country. Someone should slap them out of their stupor - 210 000 Americans dead. Wake the f☆<|< up.

totally agree. I just hope the democrats, should they win, will this time actually go through with it. There is no need to fear losing voters, as those who support Trump would never vote democrates. But whatever happens in November, the US has been heading for a civil war these past 4 years and IMO it is inevitably coming. ANd Russia and China are benefitting and stoking the fire

The irony being that Trump was more a lifelong Democrat than a Republican. Maybe he was the WMD that went in to annihilate the Republicans from within, though the Democrats will never claim him back, not old friends like the Clinton's either. As per China, this has come out: www.ctvnews.ca/politics/trump-viewed-canada-as-political-pawn-in-trade-issues-with-china-bolton-1.5140361From a legal standpoint, I apologize to Meng Wanzhou. It was so obvious, but to hear John Bolton on the topic is like watching a greying Dupont of Dupond & Dupont, though maybe less entertaining. This was a trade issue that went below the belt, at the precise time Trump wanted to sabotage Canadian trade with China. The most disobliging is that BC and Vancouver are historically linked to Chinese-Canadians, and this was just galling.
