Board Will Be Closed to Visitors/Copyright Photos

Hi Everyone,

I am restricting the board to members only for now. See discussion about this in the next post the end. I could have made separate threads for these two announcements, but i feel that they are connected.

I am convinced that there is an orchestrated effort to have Royal opinions shut down by Pro Boards. Thus far in the past week, I have received two notices from Pro Board abuse department about removing copyrighted material from the site. Also, some Tinypic photos posted by members are Tinypic URLs are being mysteriously replaced with risque photos. I am the only member with admin privileges so I have no idea how this is happening. I suspect it may be happening to other photos posted since I found about mine by happenstance when i went to look at an older post.

As for the copyright material, the business manager of Reals Photo Agency (Monaco's photo agency used for its main official functions) joined the board and then contacted Pro Boards to have the photos that I posted from the Civil and Religious wedding removed. Of course, since she joined the board, she could have just asked me to remove the photos. Today, I received another notice about the photos that Emmeline posted of Albert and Andrea hiking. The photos were posted on Pure People, but they are stamped with another photo agencies copy right on them in addition to pure People's stamp.

For now, please share your photos with your own photo sharing account links - or link directly to the photo agencies.

Concerning visitors restriction, I would love to hear your opinions on this. We have many members who joined and have not made a single post. Do you feel that these members should remain as members? How do you feel about the hundreds of visitors that we receive on the board? Although they clearly do not participate in the discussions, do you think it is beneficial having them as an audience? I know for a fact that certain individuals that we opine about do read our boards, do you feel that visitors as these should be able to continue?

I actually became interested in these royal forums because there was something about Albert's investiture July 12, 2005 that really intrigued me and I really felt that this was a man who was deeply concerned about his country and his people. I saw a man who lived in the shadow of a great man - his father - who now genuinely wanted to succeed as Monaco's new Sovereign. Thus, I genuinely wanted Albert - and thus Monaco - to succeed. Year after year, month after month, I slowly realized that Albert did not have the convictions to succeed at what he presented in his investiture speech. I have no doubts and I have made my feelings perfectly clear - supported with tons of evidence - that Albert imposed one of the biggest con artist on his people - the former Charlene Wittstock now Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco. As we have seen with everything else - in time this truth will be hugely publicly revealed. Albert has shown himself to be the Village Idiot of Monaco and I am steadily losing interest in Monaco.

Thus, I am spending less time researching and sharing information. Which also means, that playing silly games with the child-like woman Charlene and her flunkies is not a battle that I tend to fight - simply because I do not have to. Karma has taken care of this woman and will continue to. My life has drastically changed over the last year - I have a renewed sense of what things are truly important in this world - and a plastic dumb-as-a-rock narcissistic con artist doesn't even register in it.

The irony is that unlike most of the other boards, photos are not the crux of the discussion on Royal Opinions. Most of the other royal forums will cease to exist if they don't have their glossy photos to drool over. Many of the members who post here have formed their opinions of these people on substantive things - beyond the clothes, jewelry, figure, hair styles - all the things that we call LOOKS. Our opinions are mainly based on people's own words, their own actions, their own behavior and of course their attitudes. So any one trying to shut Royal Opiiners up by restricting photos are barking up the wrong tree.

Another example of the palace trying to control PR. Notice they are only allowing people like the "Royal Correspondent" permission to use the photos. Yes, I think the board should be closed to anyone who isn't a participating member. Charlene is desperately trying to have this board closed, no doubt in my mind.

I am one of those joiner-but no posters. I just have nothing interesting to say!

If it is a choice between having the board alive and well, or having it shut down then fine, leave it for posters/members only.

I think this board is important as an archive of before and after photos of Charlene. And of lies versus truth. I cannot get over the lie propagated by the palace that she qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Lies by official organizations shock me!

This is an entire country we are talking about, and a ruler with actual power and influence. It is a matter of many peoples livelihoods. Not simply a question of 'when will Charlene get another awesome tiara?'

I do think that lurkers, like immigrants before citizenship, have a currency, a value. These are people late to the party, but who still want to join, once they find out how rockin' the place is.

It used to feel a bit more fun to laugh at their missteps and all, but I feel that now it is surprisingly serious... Atmosphere is weighing down on Al and Char.... Look at how she looked at the Princess Grace collection.... Have you ever seen her that zombie-like? I haven't...
They have to be desperate now... And the last few appearances it seems they don't bother trying to fool anyone anymore.
Which brings us to people trying desperately to attempt to control what's out there.. Clean it up, if you will.

If it's purely a copyright issue then using links for us to go view photos is fine. I would think the agencies wouldn't mind the free press they get when we view them, but if it's what they want, then I say just post the link to the photos and we'll discuss them.

As for members not posting, I think there are long-time viewers who love reading our comments but for whatever reason don't wish to post. However, if they join and do not come on to view what we are posting I would say delete the account after a year of not popping on to see us. I understand some don't want to post just read. I don't have a problem with that.

I have noticed that the Eringer blog is picking up equally prickly people (trolls?) lately when the subject of Charlene comes up. Frankly I would think the palace should be more worried about pros like Cindy Adams, than us but hey, they thought Eringer was a fly they could squash and now he's in Forbes.

I hope that you are not closing this board because of complaints. It's one of the view places I find refreshingly free. Keep up the good work!

I really care for Monaco. I don't know why since i don't even live in the same continent, but i do care for it's people, even if they have accepted a dumb-ass-a-rock-narcissistic-con-artist-high-school drop out-princess. It's not their fault anyway, i think.

So yes, for now i think the forum should just be for members only. I can't believe we are in this situation again. The Red Forums, the blue forums, Royal Dish, and now here?

It's clear that Monaco's PR are a bunch of incompetent people that think that closing up forums that tell the truth will convince people that Albert and Charlene are happy and madly in love, when they themselves don't even try to pretend that anymore. And we have evidence of that, from what we can tell from the latest events.

As to the other part, the forum should be opened to members only. Need to be careful who joins and why. Lots of spies around.

I agree. Also, if there is a photos someone is in doubt about you can privately e-mail everybody so they can see it without publicly posting it and we still can discuss it.

And this is the very reason why people have such a low opinion of her. She does nothing constructive to improve her brain at all. To her it isn't necessary. If she spent half the time learning French - or anything - that she spends reading these boards she wouldn't have the problems she has. She wouldn't even know people don't like her - (and they probably would like her more because she'd be a different person!) -- PLUS she'd be able to speak SOME language properly by now. (English or French!)

I'll chime in later after I've given the rest of this matter more thought. But, thanks Myadia for all your hard work. It is truly appreciated by the vast majority of us! Hang in there.

Wow! Do I feel important or what? Here I am with my fellow posters from all over the world, making pithy comments about a prince (an autocrat head of state) and his princess and what I say is so influential and evidently, damaging that I must be silenced. This is wacky beyond belief.

First, MyaDia, again thank you for taking the time and making the effort to start and manage this forum. Your work is appreciated. Especially all the efforts that you make, and fellow posters, to provide actual facts of what is going on in Monaco. This makes this forum most interesting. After what happened at Royal Dish, I'm not surprised that the musket has been turned on this forum now. Albert and Charlene must have the thinnest skin of any human beings. Someone needs to tell them that they are in the big leagues now and this comes with the territory.

I think that this attack may be in response to the Forbes article on Albert and Eringer. Eringer may have taken some hits in the article, but Albert comes off as not qualified to be prince. If Eringer had not exposed what he has, I don't think that Forbes would have written the article. Also, Monaco using diplomatic immunity to fight what is basically a collection action seems to be overkill and makes one wonder what is going on there. The serious press is starting to look at Monaco and is not giving it high marks.

The blatant waste of money at the wedding, especially during these difficult economic times and the fact that Monaco has a deficit, also is raising eyebrows with serious people. The money spent is on level with what one would expect from some world leader whose marriage would have impact on many, many people, not just some low level prince of the second smallest country in the world. World markets are roiling from worries about Greece and Italy debt and here is Monaco wasting a ton of money on a carpet that is now being cut up at the same time that services for its citizens are being cut.

I can only assume that someone is very afraid that the press and that others will start to investigate this forum and will find out things that they don't want known (similar to Eringer). MyaDia has worked hard to make this a record of the facts (and resulting opinions) and a resource to anyone who wants to learn more. It reminds one of Royal Dish wiping out all of the Monaco comments, hoping to remove any discomforting facts or opinions from being seen.

On the question of whether to limit the forum to just members or to everyone on the web, I am undecided. If it's limited to just members, hopefully we can all post as we want and enjoy the camaraderie of people who have a similar interest without being pestered to shut up. However, it does provide some level of victory for the Silencers as it will limit who will see this information and that is what they want.

Thanks to my fellow posters. Although this is a forum about Monaco, I have learned many other things. Such as about languages, plastic surgery, etc. I have enjoyed reading what others know about the various topics and how individuals from other countries view things. Plus, though some call us haters, I have found the group to be comprised of many caring people who are truly interested in the well-being of their fellow posters.

Most of us are here because we truly care about the future of MONACO. We have come here through various paths, most that touch on Princess Grace. If I didn't care about Monaco, then I wouldn't be spending any time on this. It is sad that most of us seem to care more about the success and positive progress of the country than its Sovereign Prince and Princess do.

That concludes my royal opinion for today. I will opine more in the future.

Well, I'm not surprised that pressure has been put on proboards to harass anyone that criticizes the Monaco noble family. Remember what happened to the Monegasque man that played the organ in the Monaco cathedral? He went to jail for creating a blog that criticized his prince. Being an American I strongly support anyone's right to express themselves, even if the opinion offends me and I don't agree with it.

Posting photo links using tinypic will solve the copyright problem won't it? It is possible to restrict just the Monaco threads of the forum to posters only. But I don't know what good that would do. Some of the Monaco supporters are already posters so if the Monaco threads are restricted, the Monaco supporters are already "in".

I'd like to know, exactly how many people read these forums to form their opinion on Monaco? Not many I'd imagine. More damage is done by the press and I don't think that a journalist like Diane Sawyer would read RO before an interview with Prince Albert. Besides, few in the USA really care or know who Prince Albert is. The press that Monaco needs to worry about is the French, Italian, German, Spanish and British press and I doubt that any of these journalists go to RO for their information.

Just a suggestion. To check your own picture posts and make sure that none of your pictures have been replaced with a risque picture, click on your own forum name, scroll down to "recent activity" and enter the number of posts you want to view, in the "View most recent posts" option and click on "submit". This way you can look at your most recent or all of your posts. Look at your pictures and notify the moderator if any are now replaced with risque pictures. This happened to me. I used tinypic to post a photo, it disappeared from my tinypic account (I've changed my password for tinypic) and my posted photo was replaced with a topless model picture.

Born in a country that doesn't exist anymore I have studied the collaps of Soviet Union and GDR very carefully and agree wholeheartedly with my American RO-friends!!! (RO unites )

You can't WRITE a country better - you have to MAKE it better.

You CAN'T CONTROL peoples opinions by controling photos or articles - you have to WORK on yourself and improve yourself to be loved and adored = to care for other people and your country -not skin deep fashion and photoshop.

I don't think restricting this board to members would help.
It might cause Trolls entering this board as members - who would even post and act like "normal" members and then misbehave in terms of copyright.

Furthermore RO is a brilliant archive of facts. It should be open to the public because it makes a change.

WOW! Myadia, I am sorry to read you have to put up with so much dirt. Talk about freedom of speech!! But, I would keep it open and just make sure to check the copyright issue.

I always thought Charlene was a good girl, until I read the true about her and palace. I didn't know sooo much about (the "other" side) one of my favorite Royal families, I always read HOLA, Paris Match, etc., and they love their Royals. They don't publish comments that are not nice and feet kissing.

They want to read what people really think of them, go ahead! Let them!! She will improve if they read what people in Monaco and around the World feel and think. I wonder if at this point, Palace has people reading this blog and taking notes. I wonder if this is why her dresses have changed? Maybe they are taking you more serious than you believe.

Everything said here is either our opinions and/or fact that you can prove. So, there is nothing illegal, there is nothing said their lawyers can use against us (except the copyright stuff) .

But, we are in the 21st century with the pros and cons. Palace cannot shut up the World anymore - is a con for them and a pro for us :-) Freedom of speech IS our right!
